What about you?
Wow, except for CdG 888 and the John Galliano fragrance I am looking forward to nothing else on that list.
I'm about the Comme des Garcons 888 too, gotta love the name. Don't know anything about the scent though.
The Prada men's counterpart to Infusion d'Iris sounds interesting. Anyone know the nose on this one - is it going to be Daniela Andrier who did both the pour Homme and the original Infusion d'Iris?

Euphoria intense - well, I refuse to let myself have expectations when it comes to a CK scent, but the top notes of that scent are great IMO. If they can increase the longevity and amp up the intensity of the dry down, that'll be a mass market winner.

I'm interested to see what that Dali scent is going to be, too.
juicy couture for men.....and i guess i'll be slightly curious how jayz fragrance will smell.

Thierry Mugler A*men Pure Coffee (2008)

I'm really interested to see what David Yurman's collaboration with Clarins will be like (will it be another classic?). Ditto for B.P.I's new releases (the new Gaultier and John Varvatos scents), and the new Ferragamo unisex scent. Even CK Euphoria Men Intense sounds promising, with its agarwood note (I wonder if the Macy's flagship on 34th Street will have it when I'm in NYC next week?).

And, of course, anything new from Thierry Mugler intrigues me.
Well, I can't say that I'm really excited about any of them, but I'm deeply curious about the following ones:
Hermes new fragrance in Jardin series
Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Union Square
Comme des Garcons 888
Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland
John Galliano debut fragrance
Prada male counterpart to Infusion d'Iris
Tom Ford fragrance for women
Thierry Mugler A*men Pure Coffee (2008) sounds interesting....
Hermes' Jardin offering
Brooks Brothers
Thinking about this more, I can officially say that Prada's offering has me excited. *happy dance*
post #11 of 71
Excited to try these

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Union Square (Spring 2008)
Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense (January 2008)
Comme des Garcons 888 (March 2008)
Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men (March)
Paul Smith limited edition scents men & women
Prada male counterpart to Infusion d'Iris (September 2008)
Thierry Mugler A*men Pure Coffee (2008)
Versace Pour Homme (Spring 2008)
Names don't excite me. I need to see notes and perfumers to get excited.
Givenchy Pi Neo (September 2008) sounds interesting.
I won't be holding my breath for any of these. It simplifies my frag search since I can focus on what's already available.

I'm mildy curious about Juicy's men's frag.

What ever happened to the plan to release Aura from the Perfume coffret? I thought it would be out by now.
I can probably respond after my head keeps spinning looking at all the debuts for 2008...GEEZ!

BTW, was Dior Homme Intense ever released in the US? Where??

Given that this is a list of fragrances, surely that's an endorsement.

I'm looking forward to the Juicy scent for men. The girlfriend and I really like their female offering, so I'll give this a try.
888 by CdG.....Can't wait.
Gary
Maybe the Hermes Jardin and a sniff of the Mugler coffee, but other than that, nothing here has me the slightest bit interested. Sounds like more crap to appeal to the lowest common denominators.

Juicy Couture for men? Jay Z? Jessica Simpson? Jennifer Lopez? Go ahead America, keep digging your own hole and make your checks out to MTV.
Brooks Bros., Fendi, Pi Neo and Paul Smith for me
post #20 of 71
Versace Pour Homme .... Hoping its as good as or better than his classic L'Homme .

Fendi fragrance for men (2008) <--- Oh Karl !!!

Lanvin Rumeur Rose (2008) <--- Yea! for heavy florals.

Also not on the list but entering distribution in '08 the new Christian Lacroix Noir PH (Avon exclusive), is described as a "fresh, woody" fragrance. It was developed by perfumers Pascal Gaurin and Yves Cassar, and features ginger, saffron, cardamom, orris, white cedarwood, driftwood, vetiver and musk.

I agree with some of you here...it's hard to get excited about any of these.
I'm not moved by any of them except maybe the new Bond no. 9.
Being a Brooks Brothers groupie - I am looking forward to their scent and don't feel it will be ground breaking just a clean discreet classic.

Angel Men Intense - which is suppose to be just coffee/patchouli/woods no sweets in this one I was told. Please don't let it be B*Men rebottled like IceMan was Summer Flash.
Thierry Mugler A*men Pure Coffee and the New Rochas. Hell---lay 'em all out---I'm an over-enthusiastic newbie with the hunger for new frags!
The Mugler, the Prada, and the Rochas.

How can Bvlgari Aqua get any more marine??? Or do I not know what marine is?

That's what I'm wondering! I just bought Aqva and I tried it on myself. Any more marine, I'd smell like Sea World.
nothing of them!
I'm looking forward to smell:

Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense (January 2008)

Charriol fragrances for women & men (Fall 2008)

Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men (March)

Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier2 Eau d'Amour (February 2008)

John Galliano debut fragrance (2008)

Paco Rabanne scent (August 2008)

Paul Smith limited edition scents men & women

Prada male counterpart to Infusion d'Iris (September 2008)

The Art of Shaving Lavender

Van Cleef & Arpels First Premier Bouquet (January 2008)

Versace Pour Homme (Spring 2008)

It seems to be an interesting year, fragrantly!

CDG 888

Fendi fragrance for men (2008)

Hermes new fragrance in Jardin series (Summer 2008)

Prada male counterpart to Infusion d'Iris (September 2008)

Teo Cabanel fragrance for men (2008)

Of that list, these are the ones I'm looking forward to most. I think some could have potential.
Every scent for men and unisex ones.
Thierry Mugler A*men Pure Coffee
888 - CDG
Hermes - jardin
Hmm, A lot of possible disappointments in there but I must admit I am curious about some of them;

CDG 888
Gres- Homage a la Dietrich
John Galiano
and Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland
Dolce & Gabanna the One for Men
Burberry The Beat

Don't know about much about any of the others. We'll see about them anyway....I like the Dolce & Gabanna and most Burberry scents.
For me;
Fendi
Prada
and John Varvatos for women since I am curious what he will come up with given his men's scents.
Of course the above will change once each fragrance hits the stores.
Well, you asked for it -

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Union Square - Its like taking the stage to perform after Judy Garland(Silver Factory) How will it manage?

Burberry The Beat - Ive always felt that Burberry does well for commercial scents

Comme des Garcons 888 - I like the look of gold - will I like the smell?

Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men - will it be a huge, safe, over-hyped, disastrous bore like the Light Blue was? (probably...)

Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland - I have my pre-conceived ideas for how this should smell. Lets see if they're right.

Gres Hommage a Marlene Dietrich trio - These could either be really fantastic or really terrible - either way - you can't deny - they're really ambitious. For some reason I see these as being either all winners, or all losers - I hope they're cohesive - it can be achieved, but can they achieve it?

Hermes new fragrance in Jardin series - very excited about this one. Love and own the first 2. Wonder which garden we've chosen this time...

Ineke Evening Edged in Gold - her first 4 were so incredibly boring but this one actually sounds like it might achieve something interesting - will it?

John Galliano debut fragrance - I wonder if it will be like the candle.

Manuel Canovas new fragrances - I liked what I've smelled of his so far...

Marc Jacobs Splash Basil - just the Basil one. I love Basil. I liked his Ivy and his Grass. They are what they are - if you buy them expecting complexity - then it must be said - you may not be all that smart.

Paul Smith limited edition scents men & women - Ive always thought PS released above average stuff - nothing terribly safe, Story was marvelous.

Prada male counterpart to Infusion d'Iris - I had no idea. And here I am thinking the first one was meant to be Unisex. I, of course can imagine many ways to make it more masculine - but I dont find it all that feminine - so Im not seeing the need for this. But, Ive always felt one can never have to many iris fragrances, so bring it on. I'll take 'em all. I hope it's not as droll as [no] Amber Pour Homme. Meaning - I hope the Infusion for men actually has detectable iris in it. Wouldn't that be chivalrous of them?

Rochas Soleil - because its Rochas.

Teo Cabanel fragrance for men - LOVE this line. Exceptional scents.

The Art of Shaving Lavender - I dont like Lavender. But I like this line. Great sandalwood.
I don't know any of these brands. Please tell me the best perfume for men from these brands
post #38 of 71
I'm always interested in the Salvador Dali's. There's a new one available in Australia now called Salvador Dali Black pour homme in a rectangular bottle which is a chypre and that should be here soon.
The most reliably appealing scents at Dali's house. I love em, Mrs. Fredricktoo loves them.

i went to a bloomingdales and went to the chanel cosmetic store-in-store and tried all the men's - complained they were too old for me blah blah...and i said " when will chanel make a new men's fragrance?" and she replied that they will come out with something for spring...
rumor? or just a lie?! ( same day i tested no 19!)

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Union Square (Spring 2008)
Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense (January 2008)
Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men (March)
Fendi fragrance for men (2008)
Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Reflet d’une Goutte (2008) -
Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier2 Eau d'Amour (February 2008)
Jean Paul Gaultier new fragrance for women (Fall 2008)
John Galliano debut fragrance (2008)
Juicy Couture Dirty English for men (March 2008)

I found some pictures:

Coming early next year from Bvlgari, Aqva Pour Homme Marine, a new fragrance for men:

The scent is designed to evoke the natural freshness and vitality of the ocean, using ingredients such as neroli, grapefruit, white cedar wood and the aquatic plant posidonia, a key component of its Aqva Pour Homme predecessor. The juice was created by Jacques Cavallier.

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Marine will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette

A more aquatic aquatic than Bulgari Aqua was? :brolly:

Okay, if the bottle/packaging says something: the original Bulgari Aqua was more of a dark, cold, salty, seaweed drenched sea. The new packaging and bottle is much lighter and brighter, so I suppose this one will smell just like some tropical beach with hot babes or something like that.

You know, like Acqua di Gio. :brolly:

the above is listed as a new men's fragrance.
Aqua Pour Homme Edition Limitee (m)

on fragrantica.com

is the new Marine scent the officially sanctioned US Marines version?

semper fi

PS Sephora had an exclusive last year on Aqua where the juice was exactly the same scent, darker juice and the word Aqua was larger.

Are bottle collectors driving demand?

Aqva Pour Homme Edition Limitee
This limited-edition interpretation of Bvlgari's AQVA Pour Homme is distinguished by a new luminous color, inspired by the iridescent reflections of water.

Characterized by the chromatic contrast between the AQVA logo and the glass in a play of optical effects that highlights its unique design, this aromatic blend of marine scents is an exaltation of intense freshness with a woody essence that's suffused with mineral elements for a touch of sensuality and richness. Notes:
Mandarin, Petit Grain, Santolina, Posidonia, Mineral Amber.
Style:
Fresh. Elegant. Mascul ine.

$70.00 roflmao

Hm, I was hoping for something more exciting from Bulgari. The last past years were not really exciting from that side.
Prada's Male Counterpart
A*men Pure Coffee
CdG 888
Dolce & Gabbana, despite the female version being a bit commercial, it's still very nice, hoping the mens will be similar to something wearable, but still different
The Tom Ford fragrance for women has me interested, as I hope it's got a unisexish vibe to it
and Marc Jacobs Splash Grapefruit, the Amber one is divine!
American Beauty Beloved (based off the movie!?...this has me curious)
The Brooks Brothers ones
The Hermes one
The Prada one (will it also contain iris?)
The Art of Shaving Lavender

And Aqva "Marine"??? Isn't the existing Aqva marine enough for them? Maybe Cavallier will do something nice with it, but I'm not holding my breath.
The Fendi men's scent
The new Hermès Jardin series scent
The Paco Rabanne
Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense (January 2008)
Maybe the Prada, but I like the Infusion d'Iris just fine or me...
I am rarely excited about new fragrance offerings; they always are letdowns. The last thing that was actually rewarding was Absolu de Rochas, oh and Alchimie also. I guess the only thing on the list that might be of interest would be the Gres, Marlene Dietrich trio. But I am not going to set myself up for another letdown.

I really like the classic AQVA pour homme, and I also like light fresh colognes...
...but this new AQVA Marine to me smells very much like a cologne I smelled in the 90's, IDK which one, it's not bad, but very dissapointing given how great AQVA ph classic is IMHO.

I smell none of the seaweed/seagrass that dominates AQVA ph classic

Thumbs down on the new AQVA marine.

Givenchy Ange ou Demon Tendre - my initial impression of Ange ou Demon was "Mmm... smells like a Hypnotic Poison rip-off..." Now, the follow-up uses 'tendre' in the product name - just like the follow-up to Hypnotic Poison (Tendre Poison).

Now, that's taking the piss...
I'll wear the Bvlgari Aqva Marine tomorrow and give y'all a report.

Actually Tendre Poison was born as a springtime, less ambery and greener counterpart for the original Poison and was launched before Hypnotic Poison... Anyway in general I don't like any of these re-editions, or morphed formulas... To me all of them are just simptoms of lack of creativity and attempts of easy cash making.

Ahhhh, yes! It's all coming back to me now. I stand corrected!

Completely agree with you about those re-editions, though.

Please do. Make it elaborate and if possible, comparisons with the current Bulgari Aqua. Really curious.

So far, I am not excited about any of the 2008 scheduled releases.

I have been happily exploring fragrance families and recently started exploring specific fragrance notes.

Although I have a number of 2007 and other recent releases, my interests trend to the old timers. The average release year for my collection is 1982!
this is a great list!

from what i am looking i am looking foward to

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Union Square (Spring 2008),
Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men (March) for my boyfriend
The Bvlgari Marine
