Another Rochas Femme question...where is the EDP? Why just EDT?

I have tried a full application of Femme Rochas EDP from a mini I purchased recently. It is really beautiful, the best part of my recent order, which also included full bottles of Diva and Arpege - much less satisfactory purchases.

So I looked for a full bottle of Femme Rochas EDP (not a mini). I found no source for something like this.
It seems that Femme Rochas in EDP (full bottle) is hard to find. It is either EDT or EDP in a mini.

Does anyone know where Femme Rochas in EDP can be purchased, in full size?

I don't think it is sold in full size - was trying to look it up for you - looks like the edp was released in 1960 - earlier there was a perfume.
http://www.perfumeintelligence.co.uk...ses/Rochas.htm

"Femme Parfums Rochas 1944 Signature fragrance; a wedding gift by Marcel to his wife Hélène. Created by Edmond Roudnitska; a classic fruity chypre parfum with top notes of peach, plum and apricot, heart notes of jasmine and rose and base notes of oak moss, vanilla, amber and patchouli, classified D4f. Presented in a flacon with a gold top which was designed by Marcel Rochas in conjunction with Marc Lalique and made by René Lalique et Cie and modelled on the Mae West torso; the advertising featured a Botticellis face in contrast to the re-launch in 1989; re-orchestrated by Oliver Cresp of Quest International; a decidedly earthy mossy chypre fragrance. It is a favourite of Margaret Thatcher"

You can still get the edp at escentual.co.uk in the 50ml bottle for about 51pounds. It carries a lot of hard to find frags in the full size, but can get quite pricey with the exchange, shipping etc. Hope this helps.

Thats a great site spicegirl - I wish it was in the US

Me too Dee!
I've purchased the odd bottle from there in an edp or parfum when I couldn't find it cheaper or "closer" to home, but as I said, it can get pricey esp. when pds are double the Canadian dollar!

hello syracusa, fellow Femme-fan over here!
if you get your hands on the edp, could you post how it differs to the edt?
I too loved the edp-minis I bought of Femme. But the edt I bought after that is a completely different scent (to me). So I thought, I must have had minis with the vintage formula (hence the desperate thread I opened yesterday). But maybe Femme is a case like Chanel No 5, where every concentration is a different scent.
... it ain´t easy!

I love the EdP in the mini and I would love to have a full bottle of EDP - which seems to be virtually impossible, unless you pay an arm and a leg to get it from that UK site.
I don't know why...but I have this thing about spraying and enevloping myself with the fragrance, instead of just applying little dabs here and there from a mini. Minis are for trying the fragrancce out, in my opinion, not for actually wearing it. When I just dab, I feel like I don't even smell the "real" perfume or that I don't get the "full experience".

It is different with pure perfume, that one can ONLY be dabbed...but if it is a EDP, I hate to DAB any kind of "eau" on me. The "eau" - whether toilette or perfume - needs to be sprayed all over, in my book. .
And if it is EDT, I need about a ton to get the full experience going! ...

It is unimaginable why these Femme EDP minis would circulate aorund - but not a full size bottle of EDP.
Quite frustrating...

Ahem, some research later. Rochas was bought by Procter & Gamble, they shut down the fashion line, but kept the fragrances alive (I guess). Femme is listed a edt and edp on the french p&g website and the edp of Femme is also listed at the french website of Sephora.
Alas, I´m seriously considering a short trip to Paris (... Guerlain! Caron! Serge Lutens! ... oh, right and Louvre, Champs Elysees if I can find some time.).
So the edp concentration is still being manufactured.

And I feel like a maniac.

And I feel very jealous.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...you EU residents, right in the middle of everything, taking trips to Paris and all that jazz, like I would take a trip to Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Rub it in, rub it in!!...

One day, I'll get my revenge. Working hard on my relocation, by the way.

Oh NO!!! syracusa, if I´ll ever go to Paris, I´ll ask if I could shop some Femme EdP for you, too!
But .. ahem ... I just bought some from the UK (Don´t ask. Just. Don´t. Ask. I´ll have to ask enough ... for a raise, that is.)
Ahem, so in a few days I might be in the position to say if the edp from my minis matches th edp in those bigger bottles. I might not go down in perfume history, but I will certainly BE down if that stuff smells like the edt.

And speaking of jelousy: How will I ever sniff Tabu by Dana? How much do I have to pay for that cheeky musk oil by Kiehls? How do I get my handy on Burt´s bees?

I can solve that jealousy problem for ya!
I can buy that stuff from here and send it to you. Honestly though, from its packaging, presentation and places you can find it at (Tabu), it does not look very promissing to me. I know it sounds snootty...but overall, it's not something hard to find. Do you want me to help with this? ...
Hm ... why, yeah. I know Tabu is a drugstore scent in the US. But it is supposed to be the predecessor of Opium. I´m considering you offer! But I´d like to swap ... can Germany offer you something scentwise?
I was actually starting to make plans with my boyfriend about that trip to Paris. Biggest hinderance (after MONEY) is I speak no French at all. And I will have to fend for my own in those perfume houses. But certainly not before April.

On topic: the Femme edp should arrive next week. I keep my fingers crossed!

Lucky me - that Femme EdP already arrived. Thank you British Royal Mail, thank you very much.
The juice is on my hand for about 20 minutes now and ... I´m puzzled. The cumin is really irritating. At first I thought, I had spilled something else on my hand and was wondering about that indian food smell. So cumin ... pleased to meet ya. Hm, at least it smells like indian food on me and not like sweat

I would say the EdP is better than the EdT indeed. I got a hedache from the EdT and couldn´t smell much as I was being crushed to death by flowerPOWER (on my skin and on paper as well. Stupid nose of mine).
In the EdP the cumin is still the main actor, but behind it, I think I detect the warm base of the Femme I fell in love with. I absolutely wouldn´t mind if the cumin moved further in the background ... or took a walk some miles away from me.
After all I´ve read about the reorchestration of Femme, the EdP seems to be much truer to the new formula. But huh, I liked that stuff in my minis better.
--------------------------------------
Update:

The smell on my hand mellowed and after one hour the cumin had softened enough that I could detect Femme!
Luckily, I decided to be brave & spray some Femme under my shirt, so the cumin would be faded when I go to sleep. But ... ... it was much less obvious than it had been on my hand. It even feels like that scent I fell in love with
So, all I have to do is to travel to Paris in (say) April and get enough bottles EdP for me and of course at least one for Syracusa.

But in the past week I learned how amazingly few fruity chypres are out there! I demand a renaissance!
Femme & kitz take a bow together & say unisono: Good night!
