Las Vegas, Nevada

They've built a Barneys New York on the Las Vegas strip, if anyone checks it out, let us know about it! Like does it have Chergui/Fumerie Turque, and does it have any Bell Jars?

Also, the shops at the Bellagio have a Chanel store that sells exclusifs, and others such as Hermes, Gucci, YSL, ect.
Haven't been there yet--where exactly is it at? Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show has the best, and most diverse, collection with Creed, L'Artisan, Jo Malone, Keiko M., and lots of others. They said they were getting the Tom Ford private collection sometime this year.

Barneys is at The Palazzo hotel, it looks HUGE
post #4 of 51
That's how fast they're going up here. I've been here almost 11 years now and I have no idea which is the Palazzo. I tend to avoid the strip unless I'm heading to the Fashion Show Mall or Ceasar Forum Shops where there's a good selection of boutiques (Varvatos, Penhaligon's, Etro, etc.)
I had a chance to visit Barney's at the Canal Shoppes in Venetian/Palazzo. They had a pretty nice selection of niche lines. Here are the ones that I recall seeing there, there were probably more:

Acqua di Parma
Antonia's Flowers
Byredo
Comme des Garcons
Costume National
Frederic Malle
Heeley
L'Artisan Parfumeur
Le Labo
Nasomatto
Parfums 06130
Parfums de Rosine
Parfums Delrae
Serge Lutens
The Different Company

I know I did not post on here a lot, but I wanted to share what a wonderful experience I had at the Guerlain shop in the Palazzo (Venetian) Casino/Resort in Las Vegas. I dealt with Claire young and another very wonderful gentleman.

First off, the shop is awesome, they have every Guerlain you can think of, I got to test Cologne 68, many many many more, and FINALLY got to test DERBY and let me tell you it is pretty damn amazing. If I had the money to buy it, I would have dropped the cash on the spot.

A lot of times when you go into a perfume shop, you have one of either two experiences, the latter being that the staff is knowledgeable, smart, and kind. This shop is the latter, they were both very helpful and knew a hell a lot about Guerlian cologne, ie the notes, etc…. In addition, they told me some cool stuff about the history of the company.

Guys and gals, I am telling you, if you are in Vegas and want to buy some Guerlain go see these guys. Hell, even if you can’t afford to buy some great Guerlains, go in and they will likely love to talk shop with you. They seemed very very passionate about what they do and totally cool to the customers.

Their phone number is 702-732-7008, just in case anyone wants to order anything.
Yes, the boutique is staffed by wonderful people, and they will take phone orders, as well.

Sad the Truefitt and Hill barbershop closed in Las Vegas. A casualty to the economy.
This is actually at the Palazzo. The Venetian is adjacent, though when walking from and to, one probably wouldn't notice. I forget the one gentleman's name (it was something on the unique side), but he was a pleasure to deal with, albeit I OD'ed on how much stuff they actually sprayed. There's also a Boutique at the Bellagio, too.

Yea, I just noticed that too when I looked at the business card and amended my post. I also emailed Claire a link to this article so hopefully he will chime in. He has some cool super old rare bottle of Guerlain cologne he was telling me about, maybe he can share more.
I went to that boutique a few weeks ago and met Claire. He was lovely. (Claire is a man, btw). He's pleasant, generous and knowledgeable. (no nasty SA's here!) The boutique is small, but they have pretty much everything you'd want to see (including Guerlain's cosmetics lines) No trip to Vegas would be complete without a visit.

Clarification: The Guerlain boutique at the Palazzo is the only free-standing boutique in the city. The other locations are only counters. (This was according to Claire himself--I did not fact-check him).

Bump - I'm going soonish.

Anything new I should know about? Planning on hitting Guerlain @ Bellagio and Dior Perfumes @ Caesar's. Maybe Barney's @ The Venetian if I find the time, but boutiques are a higher priority.

I'm going next Wed for couple days and I haven't been in 10 years. Also planning to hit GUERLAIN Didn't know about Dior at Caesar's- thanks.
The free-standing Guerlain boutique is also at the Palazzo. Other Guerlain 'locations' in LV are only small counters at larger department stores. The one at the Palazzo is the place to go. Look for a dapper young man named Claire. He's friendly, knowledgeable and polite...a model SA.

It isn't big, but they have a lot of what you want to see. (two-thirds of the shop is cosmetics) They stock many of the harder-to-find classics.
I second asking for Claire, i get great service from him.
Andylama and BayKAT, thank you.

Palazzo here i come....Hope M. Claire is working the days I am there (fingers crossed)
Bumping this thread to report on my recent experience shopping there. I did not meet Claire, but I did meet Ms Tee and Chuck, who were both extremely knowledgeable and generous in spraying and allowing me to test to my heart's content..
I agree! The SAs are so helpful, and I have met SA Tee--she is a gem!

You can register for updates of releases and pick up samples in vials.

If you are in Vegas, I urge you to stop and sniff and browse.
I recommend asking for Tee at Guerlain, as she is very, very helpful. Very good customer service from her!
May I add my kudos for Ms Tee? My experience was over the phone ordering some Sous Le Vent and she was the most pleasant and helpful SA I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Will definitely place all my orders with this Guerlain shop!
Wonderful - thanks for the info !

Another thumbs up from me regarding Claire Young and the Guerlain boutique at the Palazzo. He is my go-to guy for all things Guerlain. We already have an appointment for a couple of weeks from now when I will be in Vegas. Can't wait!

When we were there last, he converted my wife to Guerlain and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

Cheers!

Any Vegas updates??! I'm here!!
My experience with the Guerlain Boutique at the Palazzo has been outstanding. Jorganne is super in every way. I feel valued, and the service I have received is impeccible. The boutique's inventory is extensive, and Jorganne went out of her way to help me special order something from the Champs Elysees boutique in Paris. Shipping is free, and no sales tax for this out of stater. Whatr a great experience.
The Guerlain boutique beats any game or show in Las Vegas, hands down!
This is one of my "must visit" spots every time I'm in Vegas. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful, and it is always a pleasure to sample things I just can't find elsewhere. I highly recommend everyone stop in whilst in Vegas.
Have ordered via phone from them in the past and it was a wonderful experience. Next time I'm in Vegas, I will definitely stop by.
Ahhhh I love Claire! Knows me by name and is always so helpful and in a great mood!
You can find the La Collection Privee fragrances at the Dior Beauty Boutique in the Palazzo. Barneys is down the hall and Guerlain is 4 stores down.
I ordered the not so easy to find "Apres L'Ondee" from Georgeanne at the Guerlain Boutique at the Palazzo. It was a wonderful experience and I will keep the boutique in my contact list. My merchandise arrived promptly along with a couple samples of new fragrances she thought I might like. When it's time to buy more I'll be giving the boutique and Georgeanne a call.
I've written up my experience with Chuck several times.. he is absolutely amazing. When I first visited, he took me on a full tour -- letting me experience everything in the store. Amazing to work with on the phone and through email..I have bought probably 7 bottles over the past three years since meeting him.

If you are a fan of Guerlain - skip your local counter and go right to the LV boutique
post #33 of 51
Gotta agree djron....I like to shop local, but often the sales people at the local perfume counters treat the testers as their own personal stash, the customer as an intrusion and getting a sample is impossible most of the time. I know that it is a big generalization - but it is based on years of experience. So - in the future, I'll avoid the aggravation and when I know what I want from Guerlain, I'll call the Palazzo and save gasoline and avoid the aggravation factor.
I'm a repeat customer there. Jorganne and Chuck are so helpful. I get the feeling whomever it is that picks up the phone would be helpful there. Obviously either well-managed, chock-full of passionate employees, or a lot of both. Agree with all the positive comments above and, if fact, have a package in transit from them at this very instant.

A Thank You to mr. primrose for the reference on the earlier 'where to buy Derby bee bottle thread'!

Have to agree. Chuck has assisted me on a couple of occasions and he is a class act all the way.
Another Kudo for the Guerlain Boutique at the Palazzo: Jorganne was able to get me Derby in the 500 ml bee bottle....get this folks....for $335. Recall that the 125 ml white bee in Les Parisienne lines was $250. Apparently, anything in the guerlain collection can be ordered in the Bee bottles.

My recommended places to go:

Venetian/Palazzo Shoppes - Barneys (aka Mecca)(the downstairs is where to go first, the 3rd level has the "Men's section", but most of them are carried downstairs as well but with a few exceptions), Guerlain, Dior (carries La Collection Privee), Fresh

Fashion Show Mall - Neiman Marcus (Creed/TFPB/MFK/much more), Saks (Bond/Killian/Jo Malone/much more), Nordstroms, Macys, Dillards. If you are going to spend time at the mall, do yourself a favor and look up the store directory before hand. There are other department stores and shops that carry fragrances (L'Occitane, Body Shop, Perfumania, etc..). I receive the best customer service at Neiman Marcus. Saks is snobby. Nordstrom doesn't have near the selection of NM or Saks, but it is easy to get samples there.

Wynn/Encore - Chanel x2, Hermes, Dior, Wynn Drugstore (Penhaligon's, L'Artisan), Jo Malone

Crystals @ City Center - Hermes, Tom Ford, Van Cleef & Arpels (carry Collection Extraordinarie), Prada (carry Exclusive collection), also inside Aria there is a Men's store that carries fragrances such as Acqua di Parma.

Cosmopolitan- Skins 6|2 The only niche boutique in Vegas. Good selection. Off the top of my head they carry (Creed, By Killian, Serge Lutens, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Diptyque, Santa Maria Novella, Eau d'Italie, Juliette Has A Gun, Tokyo Milk). I named off most of them. Perhaps I missed a few of the smaller lines. I will say that the selection of most of these lines are not complete. Creed & Serge Lutens are definitely limited here. If you are shopping for those 2 brands Neiman Marcus & Barneys respectively are where you should go.) Perhaps give them a call and see what all they are carrying before making a visit. Also if you aren't aware Cosmopolitan and Crystals @ City Center are next door to each other.

Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile Shops- The biggest Sephora fragrance selection that I have seen. It's right on the street at one entrance to the shops. But overall, for a mile of shopping, little fragrance selection besides Sephora. If you have never been in a Sephora they will gladly give 3 samples per person no problem.

Mandalay Bay - Lush (not a full selection, don't make this the only reason to go here). But if you are at Mandalay Bay stop in.

I named off most of the places I personally go. There are definitely other boutiques and shops scattered all around the strip, but Fashion Show Mall, Palazzo, Crystals/Cosmopolitan, Wynn are the places with multiple stores within them.

There are 2 main outlet malls both called "Las Vegas Premium Outlets". One is North, the other South. They have some perfume shops with a decent designer selection. However I have found prices to be higher than online. They are both off the strip and can take time to get to. Many foreign tourists go here clothing shopping. I wouldn't really recommend going here for solely fragrance shopping unless you are in Las Vegas for several days, have already been to all of the above places, and don't have similar shops in your town. On the plus side, I have been able to smell many designer fragrances that are not sold in department stores or Sephora any longer here, but I have never bought one thing in them.
Rhaybans - thanks so much for the updated list. I did not know about Skins 6/2. This information will be very helpful in planning the next Basenotes meetup in Las Vegas. If you do not know about the meetup, please check the stickied thread in either the male or female fragrance discussion board - we'd love to have you join us.
I was unaware of this until now. Thank you Matildaben. I will try and update my post with more information (in time) seeing as how it may become very useful in the months ahead.
Wow thank you guys for this info. I'm going in April and I can't wait to hit up Barneys!!
Driving to Vegas first thing in the morning, great recommendations here, will definitely check the Guerlain boutique, it's the only thing LA/OC seems to be missing.
Heading to Vegas next week to celebrate my 29th year and first year of fragrance addiction, hopefully with all this great info I can make a few great new acquisitions!
thanks so much for this info as I'll be in vegas this weekend!
Going to Las Vegas in late October. Besides Hermes, Chanel, Dior and the Guerlain boutique, what other fragrance related shops should I check out? On a side note, what's the best hotel to stay at while in Vegas?

Thanks in advance....
Barney's at the Palazzo is a must visit, IMO. They have a fine selection of brands there (designer and niche). Speaking of the Palazzo, it would make for an excellent choice for your hotel stay... That said, my recommendation is either THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay, The Aria or The Wynn. If you are looking for more of an upscale value hotel, then MGM Grand is a tremendous bang for-the-buck 4 star resort that just remodeled their rooms and suites and they are superb.
Yeah, Barneys for sure and check out Skins 6/2. As to hotel accommodations, it's all about your agenda and what your budget is. If you know what you're going to be doing and where, I suggest staying someplace close to that, otherwise you'll be in cabs everywhere and those add up fast. Mandalay Bay has got the best pool. The Hard Rock has got Rehab, which is a draw.
Update : I visited skin 6/2 at the cosmopolitan and they added Amouage, Montale and Histoire De Parfums . They will get bond 9 over the next few weeks. They already have most of the Creeds, Diptyque , some Serge Lutens and by Killian. They have other brands I am less familiar with . Talk to Linda , she is very helpful .

- - - Updated - - -

I thought it might be a good idea to update the stores and what they have after my recent trip to Las Vegas:
The fashion mall has :

Neiman Marcus and they carry Clive Christian , Ramon Monegal, Tom Ford PB , Acqua di Parma, MFK , Sisley , Van Cleef and Arpel private collection, Creed.
SAKs By Killian and Bond 9
Nordstrom : Acqua di Parma and Diptyque.

The Venetian and Palazzo shops have :
Barney's and they carry : Frederic Malle, Serge Lutens, L' artisan , Heeley, Le Labo, Byerdo, Nasomatto, Odin, the Different. Company, comme Des Garcons and others that I am not very familiar with.
Guerlain boutique , Dior boutique that carries their private collection.

Wynn has Chanel that carries their exclusive line and Dior and you can find Penhaligon's and L artisan at the drug store in the casino next to the cashier.

The city center has another Dior store that carries their private collection ( I bought leather oud and Amber Nuit from their) and you can use th bridge from their to get to the Cosmopolitan to get the Skin 6/2 where they carry Amouage , montale and Histoire De Parfums ( only store in Vegas to carry those brands) and they also carry Diptyque, Creed, Atelier an by Killian. They are also getting Bond 9 soon.

Bellagio has Armani that carries Armani Prive, and a Chanel that carries the exclusive line.
Hope this would be helpful for Vegas visitors
post #48 of 51
Another endoresement for two boutiques:

Guerlain at the Palazzo: Very helpful staff who will go the extra length for you. I am a repeat customer, like many of us.

Hermes at Crystals at City Centre: Wonderful safes staff who help with questions and purchase.

I would be visiting Vegas in a couple of day's, could anyone let me know how are the "dior homme intense" and the "l'instant de guerlain extreme" priced ?
And also which boutique would carry them ?

Thanks,
Regards.
Dior has DHI. No LIDGE in the USA. DHI is reasonably priced but it's probably cheaper on fragrancenet.
Thanks for your reply, i find it weird that my country(India) which is extremely basic in terms of fragrances, has a in a shopping mall chain both Dior and Guerlain counters, while the official Guerlain boutique doesnt have the l"instant, any reason for that
?
the DHI 100ml at my end is priced at 113$ and the L'instant extreme EDP is priced at 85$, do you think this a good price and i should buy it or will i get a better deal in Vegas ?
