Today is a work day....I think I will wear Cristobol.

Whoops! I accidently dropped my bottle of MELOGRANO on the carpet this morning,
the lid came loose and, as i retrieved it, I got a fair bit on my hands.
I think I'll stick with it for today, since it has amazing sillage. Our bedroom will be scented
with it for days now as well.

Another Monday, and an unusually warm one...I am getting nervous in my knee-high boots

I am happy that I chose Fendi Theorema for today.
A spicy, warm oriental that could be mistaken for a niche if smelled blind.. love it

Beloved stepdaughter Cathryn and her S.O. Ann were here for two days and we visited and giggled and told lies and had a wonderful time admiring The World's Most Adorable GrandBaby and now they've gone back to PA and I am all alone again.....SOB....but I can come back and play with you guys again!!! Missed ya!
Am celebrating in a sample of Tom' Ford's Tobacco Vanille (Michael!!) and lovin' it!! Spicy cigarette-y (not cigary-y) fresh tobacco with musky undertones and slow burning vanilla. Michael says it's like cherry pipe tobacco! Great for a suddenly cold day!!
Mmmmmmmmmmmm for Monday.... I am in a wonderfully dangerous mood in the gorgeous floral-civet-incense Neil Morris Fragrances Parfum d'Ida.

Pleased to know you had a great weekend with your stepdaughter and that you're enjoying the TV, which brings to mind the pipe tobacco my dad smoked.

Mine is Montgomery Taylor's Ambra di Venezia. Beautiful! It's such a gorgeous fragrance. I always wonder why we don't hear more about it. The body cream is terrific too.

CSP Vanille Coco. For the very mundane reason that we currently have a vanilla air-freshener in the loo and it's set me off on a craving.

That Parfum d' Ida sounds gorgeous. Mmmmmmm monday indeed!
Tao - sorry you're feeling lonely. But I'm sure you'd agree it's worth the bummed-out 'hangover' to have the good times with the people we love. Anyway, you come on in here and have a good gossip about smellies! That TF - how does it compare with the tobacco notes in Habanita (loving it - many thanks!)

Poivre! It's great in the winter cold.

Like Sestra, I am wearing the wonderful Chergui, my favorite fragrance for the beginning of the work week.

Sakecat22: Gosh, I thought that I was the only one who sniffed a "vomit" note in A Maze
!!

I randomly grabbed a sample of Fresh Index Fleurs de Chocolat this morning. The first blast of "whoaaaaa... flower shop" had me rushing to scrub it off before leaving for work, but by the time I reached the sink, the hints of chocolate redeemed it for me.

TPC lists "top notes of orange peel, mandarine, and vanilla; middle notes of orange flower, verbena, and ylang ylang all resting on a base of bitter chocolate, amber, and ginger."

It's a very unusual combination for me... I'm going to have to think about this one. (Thank you, Twolf! :wave

888 by Comme des Garcons (first time from a sample - thanks Barry!)

Breaking my own rules, and wearing the same scent two days in a row. But it is Chant d'arome, so I will forgive myself. Guerlain always merits, breaking of rules.
Inspired by LIMBOLEO'S earlier thread, I dug out my YSL NU. Haven't worn this for a while and was craving a sniff. Yum!

I had an epiphany of sorts this weekend with Caron Parfum Sacre, I wore it Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Perfect for chilly, windy days!

Today I'm wearing YSL's Y, osmoz says it has
topnotes of: Peach, Aldehydes, Gardenia, Honeysuckle;
middle notes of: Narcissus, Hyacinth, Rose, Orris;
base notes of: Patchouli, Vetiver, Civet, Benzoin.

Nope - you're not alone

Thankfully - I didn't pick up that note in today's wearing. The vomity note turns into the Orange Blossom note the perfumer probably intended.

So what this tells me is that A Maze is best on me in temperatures under 45 degrees .

Hey tang, how peculiar....ComDIva gifted me with a very generous decant of Fleurs de Chocolat and the first blast on my skin was "Whoaaaaa.....citrus explosion"! Flowers and chocolate kicked in only at a later stage but the citrus never left. Me likey

My SotE is the majestic Chêne...unmistakably a Lutens
I am thinking about some layering possibilities...

Was really dragging a$s this morning. It's afternoon now. Once hubby leaves for his appointment, I'll put on Terracotta Voile d'Ete. I don't think he can appreciate the top notes.
Hypnotic Poison. Don't worry, it's the EDT! LOL! Really, on me it smells almost like blackberry almond stroudle, fresh, sweet, soft and warm. Staying close to the skin...just yummy.

Chergui and snow here.

Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, trying to decide if I want to keep it or not...
Q. I am so with you -- was dragging it all today too. Took naps, looked at pretty pictures, fondled some fibers/silks, took about a mile walk to the mailboxes. Did not even cook and munched on potato chips! Will wear some orange blossom as a mood booster for the rest of the day.

The sun is out! I'm celebrating with Narciso Rodriguez for Her layered with a tiny bit of YSL Paris.

Funny you should ask because I had similar thoughts/comparisons. For me, the tobacco in Habanita is more like cigars and the whole effect is very Buena Vista Social Club - rum and cigar smoke in a dimly lit boite with hot meringue music and flashing smiles. The tobacco in TF is more like fresh cigarettes and the vanilla is only hinted at - the base notes higher. More Union Club!! If I succumb to a FB you'll get some!!

Meantime - am sinking into the arms of vintage Mitsouko from the amazing Texan lupine - and being borne back to yesteryear. Sumptuous roses and peaches over smooth woods - creamy, voluptuous. You children just don't know how great this frag was!!

Kbe, come over here and let me nuzzle... I mean, sniff you. You are SO right about that drydown. Good heavens, you do smell wonderful. Love Havana.

Anyone got any experience with Havana Pour Elle? I don't want to buy a bottle blind, but haven't been able to find it anywhere to test.

My scent after showering will be Fete, by Molyneux. Just received it today, and it was all I hoped it would be, a rich, heavy, cyphre, slightly plummy scent from the early 60's.
I feel so wonderful in my SodE,
as a matter of fact I've never enjoyed
it quite this much.

My SotE is Cashmere by Susanne Lang.
