CKIN2U for Him - Love to hate or Hate to love thread

If you will indulge me a few moments, I'd like to profess my love for CKIN2U for Him. I know it's detested here, but I must digress from the negative tide and say it's got depth, originality & quality. It's fizzy citrus opening is balanced and original. As it warms, the soft and slightly powdery cocoa/pimento accord develops. This stage is where I fell in love. Is it a gourmand or an oriental? Or both. I don't know, but it smells like an fine dessert (maybe cannoli?) waiting to be eaten. This accord fades into a light woody with a touch of white musk finale. The longevity is good and the bottle is unique and easy to handle. I haven't been this enthralled with CK since Obsession for Men came out which is not to say it's a masterpiece like Obsession. It does however, have more going for it than 95% of frags released last year. And yes, I detest the "techo-sexual", "young boy on the prowl" marketing campaign. The name is stupid too, but what's in a name?

Feel free to flame-on as I'm very curious to find out exactly why it's so detested.

I can't find it within myself to give this a serious try. Perhaps I fear the "What are you wearing?" "uhhhhh..."

I thought the scent was ok. My initial impressions I jotted down on the sole time I tested this froma sample read...

"fruity musk, fruitiness quickly subdued. Dries down to linear "clean cola" smell."

I didn't care for the final stages of the drydown though. I should wear it again though. It wasn't as bad as I had figured it would be.

Hmm, I love the womans version of this and got the mens version as a gift. It's a very boring fragrance, nothing special at all. Not much staying power on me.

But whatever, I'm selling my 1.7oz on the sell boards LOL.

I never rush to get anything CK. I only have a bottle of Obsession. After many years I know I want to get Truth and Obsession Night.
I still want to try Ephoria and this one few more times. But there are many other frags on my list before I get back to anything CK.

i think that CKIN2U has a GREAT scent, it almost reminds me of the beach which makes me laugh because of the sienfeld episode that does a skit about a ck beach cologne way back when. However the cologne just doesnt last on me at all, at most an hour. I also believe that there are many more ck sents out there that are so much better. i.e. obsession night, euphoria, and truth.

careful application - thats what i learnt from this one...i once over applied (5 sprays) and boy it was bad...almost choking for the next two hours or so (almost swore wud never wear it again)...i guess 2-3 sprays under a shirt makes this scent quite enjoyable. its from the same family as Diesel zero plus IMHO (no similarities in the smell - but the aprpoach, Yes)...as one dude mentioned...its powdery, musky, just a lil bit fruity, synthetic - yes...cant think of any particular occasion that i could wear it though...
would i buy the entire bottle? - No way. samples - yes, for one of those days

Euphoria is much more enjoyable as it grows on you wiht each wear and one would enjoy it if over applied..

Pros: It's accessible and inexpensive; the sweet notes are done pretty well (it's nice to see gourmand notes making an appearance in such a modern mainstream designer scent); cute bottle; it smells WAY better than the womens version

Cons: It has poor transitions from top to middle to bottom and kind of 'left me hanging' when I wore it; it's powdery - ugh!

tried it again today and i love it...sculptueofsoul hit the nail directly on the head...clean cola...which i really dig....i might have to drop tweny on this one at tjmaxx....good stuff if you can get past the stupid marketing.

I think it's shit, one of the worst fragrances I own. Actually it is the worst. I get 1 hour at the most with this. Terrible.

I bought a big 150ml bottle of CKIN2U Him very inexpensively 6 months or so ago, expecting it to be a three or four hour scent like CKOne. But instead I was surprised, getting six or seven hours out of it.

Some scents vary dramatically between individuals. One much loved scent here is Creed Virgin Island Water - it didn't last 50 minutes on my skin. Similarly Creed Acer Aluminium and Eau Sauvage barely last two hours on me, but there are people here who swear black and blue that they last all day on them.

If you have the time, before buying spray some on your wrist or back of your hand before buying. My rule of thumb is that if it's still there with some strength after three hours, it'll last a full working day under clothes.
