John Varvatos Vintage to replace Rocabar?

I am running very low on my bottle of Rocabar and was thinking of buying John Varvatos Vintage as a replacement. I recall there being similarities in the drydown. I do enjoy Rocabar's Pine/Cypress top and pepperiness. I don't like to rebuy so that's why I am looking for something similar but different if that makes sense. I don't care for TdH either so that is out.

I think JVV is not a suitable replacement for Rocabar. If you like JVV, then by all means wear it - I found it too synthetic smelling, schizophrenic and slightly too creamy for my tastes.

I think Tom Ford Extreme is a fine replacement for Rocabar - although TFE is a little pricey. A more affordable Rocabar replacement? Bowling Green by Geoffrey Beene and/or Truth by Calvin Klein
