Are you even old enough to wear cologne?

Just kidding, dude. That was pretty impressive...

Very well made videos dude. Definitely very helpful for people our age, young people in high school, college, or freshly out of college; people who pretty much just wear Axe, Lynx, Abercrombie Fierce, Chrome, Acqua di Gio (which you talk about), and Curve.

Does it bother anyone else that Cubby uses articles from Grant on Basenotes word for word without even citing or crediting the source? That is called plagiarism. And how about 3 posts on BN all only advertising his site?

AH!!!! This guy has the same gestures and body language than my GF. That is scary.
Suggestion 1. Talk less about you more about the scent. More than reviews, your videos look like another youtube journal. (ok i only saw 1 them)
Suggestion 2. Be more original.

uuuhhh dude... that is lame.

Suggestion 3. Do not go over and over and over and over the same information and adjectives. You can reduce the time of your videos just by doing that.
Suggestion 4. Once you become good at what you do, you will need less reassurance form other people.

While I do not agree with your reviews of 'spring' scents (Essential green and crisp? More like a boringly linear, mellow-aquatic. Try mugler cologne, that is green and crisp), there's a potential there, you just need to smell and read more.

Exact copies! cformosa4, anybody can copy and paste.... That's not a blog, that's a rip-off.

Thanks for pointing this out, reneirworld. It's blatant plagiarism, and that tends to discredit any other work cformosa4 claims as his own.

Has anyone emailed Grant yet? Take a snapshot and attach it.

Come on... he is what... a 16 year old? He is just starting. Just tell him to delete it and read the terms of use or something.
He is still gonna read the pyramid of base notes w/o citing the source anyway.

Dude, let him have his fun, he's not making any money off of it, and he's helping other 16 year olds...

(referring to the videos, not the plagiarized website...)

I don't mean to be harsh, but in my line of work, I get weary of the copy/paste mentality where people who don't put in any effort try to pass something off as their own.

(He's 19, and obviously internet-savvy, enough to know better.)

cformosa, if your video reviews are truly original, why not direct all your energy there instead of on text-blogging?

It's stealing. Doesn't matter if he's 19 or 29. Either cite it or remove. It's not asking much. Someone his age should know that. Now, if he were 12, that'd be a different story, but he's not.
Wait... I just noticed the website plagiarism...

I was referring to the webcam videos... but yeah, copy/paste is not cool dude...

I agree totally- even if I weren't an English teacher!

That's not cool to sit there are plagiarize someone else's work.
Either quit being lazy and put some effort into your reviews (meaning using your OWN thoughts, not someone else's), or just scrap it if you're going to continue to pull b.s. like that.

Real classy, dude. Become a member only to advertise your blog, then plagiarize the site. And any high school student would know that it is plagiarism.

Oh well, at least he's not talking about panty shields.

BTW, does "--------" mean "what the person above me said?"

EDIT - due to post below:

I stand corrected. Anyone who is willing to take lumps and respond the way he has is is a worthy member. My apologies. And welcome to Basenotes!

uh, i removed the blog posts.. i honestly didnt think it was a big deal.. i had posted those wayyy before peeps even viewed my site.. i removed the blog posts.. and i will be writing them in my own words.. and if i need to cite base notes, i will.. i didnt think i had to cite them.. I never meant to claim them as my own words;thats why i just called it fragrance news... i greatly apologize for that, and hope everyone who was upset by it can forgive me and my ignorance. Thinking i could just post it was stupid of me, i should have cited it.
--------------------------------------
I also posted an apology letter in my blog.
--------------------------------------
i also want to mention that my videos are 100% original and are not copying basenotes. The only time i ever use basenotes user reviews is when i say "lots of people say" or "lots of people think".

They are fully removed, and an apology letter was posted. I honestly didnt think it was plagiarism.. thought that stuff was when you take it out of books, and use it in essays or in speeches.. stuff that actually makes you credit.. this was just a hobby of mine, and using it to pass on the news...
--------------------------------------
Also, i DID NOT become a member to just advertise my blog!!!...people are starting to create your own ideas in your head.. ive been a fan of basenotes for a long time, and used it before my cologne purchases when i was younger, and less educated. I only just figured out this forum stuff.

Sorry man. It had to come off as harsh. It's a good life lesson though. Always, always give credit. And it's good to know that you're an actual participating member too Keep up the work!
