Organza Indécence vs Un Bois Vanille

Could you please tell me which one you most prefer and why?

I love both of them equally! What they have in common is the absence of floral notes, lots of vanilla and the woody aspect, but in BdV I find a liquorice and coconut (lactonic note), while OI has strong musk and spice notes (esp cinnamon) . Unfortunately discontinued, bummer.

Organza Indecence is still in production as far as I know. It was added to some sort of classics line of Givenchy, which makes it harder to find on their website - as well as on the websites of resellers. I odered my OI this January from Douglas, the German version of Sephora.
Looked it up and its even more complicated: OI belongs to the Mythical Fragrances (wahey!) and is to be found at

I don't see how to order it! I was searching for OI a while back! It sounds like it would smell like BPAL's Chimera, which I love.

I agree with jazztweety that each of these amazing scents is sans floral notes...my personal preference is Un Bois Vanille. For a few reasons:

1) Nobody does "wood" notes like SL
2) The longevity is incredible...over 12 hours, easily
3) The 'gourmand' notes are clear, pure, and blended into perfect harmony

Don't get me wrong, Organza Indecence is excellent, but takes a backseat to UBV!

Kitz, now that makes my day, thank you! I only noticed the original bottles being disappearing in the shops and also emailed Givenchy about it, but no reply, so this is finally good news !

I've got the biggest craving for vanillas at the moment it's indecent (if you'll pardon the pun).
I am seriously considering buying a bottle of Un Bois Vanille blind. I love Femininite du Bois and Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Given that I'm prepared to take the cost on the chin if I don't like it, would you say this is one you can buy fairly safely on the notes alone?

I'd like to know what you think.

I emailed them about OI too. I have yet to receive a reply as well. I have been searching for this all winter. I love OI and it smells so good on me. I got so many compliments when I wore it. Let me go look at this link with my fingers crossed.

I also emailed them about OI, but didn't get any sensible response other than to look for points of sale on their website. I asked an SA in Harrods whether it had been re-released here, but apparently it is not available in the UK in any event.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could post here if they do locate an online retailer that ships to the UK.

I've never smelled Guerlain's SDV or Shiseido's FdB...but I own and love Un Bois Vanille! If you'd like to try it first, pm your address to me and I'll gladly send off a small vial!

Overall, I find it extremely wearable, and not too sweet.

Leontion, it is meant to be available in Harrods, in the Mythiques range, which only Harrods seem to stock in the UK. Same bottle as the re-released L'Interdit, Le De, Givenchy 111, Xeryus and a couple of others. If they haven't got it yet, they will have very shortly. There were 6 in the range when I was there last, and I honestly can't remember if Indecence was one of them. But it will be. Ring them!

That's interesting to hear. I was in their last week and asked one of the SAs on the Givenchy counter. They do have some of the others in the Mythiques range, but seemed to be under the impression that they would not be getting Indecence. I will definitely ask again. Fingers crossed.

I have an original Organza Indecence, and a sample of the SL Bois de Vanille.

Let me preface this by saying: my skin dries most things out very severely. These two on me smell absolutely incomparable. OI is a soft, creamy, woody scent which dries to a wonderful sandalwood. BDV smells like burned sugar at first, develops to an "old lady drawer sachet" (for lack of a better way to say it), then becomes a non-descript white musk.

It is funny, too, because I tried the BDV on a recommendation that it might not dry out so much when I wear it! Skin chemistry is everything, it seems.

OMG. That sounds wonderful! I haven't tried BDV b/c I didn't want to fall in love with it and have to spend so much on "just another vanilla" scent. Now it's pushed to the top of my list!

Uhhh, you are joking....? LOL

I was hoping you were talking about the Organza Indecence....

Weird coincidence - I was looking at Organza Indecence myself because of the cinnamon in it.

When I did a quick Ebay check a month or so ago, I saw it all over Ebay for sale. It suprises me that some of you US Basenoter's have trouble finding it. I have never smelled it, but it sounds fantastic.

But for now, I am super spoiled with my healthy decant of Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain.
