Picked it up today. Wearing it to a job interview as a matter of fact (also today). Anyone else tried it?

Here is a pic, its in the middle of course.

Nice photo Geekman!
I don't love Le Male, but I sniffed this on the weekend and, as anticipated, didn't really find it extraordinary enough to warrant a purchase. I was taken (as always) with their beautiful bottle design though (the mens and the ladies).

I am very much looking forward to trying the "Cologne de Fleur du Male" when it hits stores here in DK later this month.

Is the fragrance new, or just the bottle?

I got the impression that they released the same summer "juice" each year, but just put it in a different bottle.

Dimitri, do you have any information about this Cologne de Fleur du Male? is it just a less concentrated version of the original?
Irish, I am not sure of the exact concentration, but 'La Cologne Fleur du Male' is touted to be the summer version of 'Fleur du Male'.
I am interested in this release as I love the original, and would enjoy a lighter version for hot summer application. LCFDM is slotted for an early May release, but some stockists may have it on counter sooner, as was the case with LM Summer, (which is also meant to be launched May 2nd).

Thanks for the info Dimitri. I also like FdM, but I did not understand why would they release a newer version as I think I the original may be quite wearable under the heat of the summer. Right now I have a bunch of samples, I guess I better wait before buying a full bottle.

Sorry for hijacking you thread Geekman1118.

I actually like the necklace, it makes it look more tribal. and tropical. Have you worn the original le male? how is this one different?

This LM Summer is pretty much the stock-standard summer juice they release each year. Its less heavy on the vanilla, and its longevity is less.
Its saving grace may be that it is alcohol-free, which is definitely a plus.

It should have been named John Paul Gautier Egyptian Summer, though a pharaoh would probably prefer Amouage Gold Cristal.

I have finally found and sampled the La Cologne version of Fleur du Male today. I was very excited to see what this release had to offer the summer cologne market.

As Sandy said in another thread, this is disappointing. When first sprayed, this scent could be anything but FdM! It opens with a verrrry soapy laundromat smell in which only the faintest strains of FdM can be detected. After 30-40 minutes this rather irritating top/middle subsides and only then do very watered-down accords of the original emerge.
As with most of Gaultiers summer offerings, the strength and sillage is practically zero.
Now, about 90 mins after my liberal sampling, I must really concentrate on the spot on my skin to detect whether Ive sprayed anything at all.

Not kewl... and definitely not worth the inflated pricetag.

Jean Paul Gaultier just bores the life out of me...

Best,
