Fresh fruity frags for men?

post #1 of 41
Thread Starter
Can you give me some suggestions of nice, fresh and fruity male/unisex (or even female ones that a man can get away with) fragrances (not citrus based)? I sometimes can feel scents like this among both males and females and it makes me just wanna put my nose against those people and inhale . The properties I'm after:

* fresh fruits/berries/floral (no citrus, at least not too heavy on the citrus)
* not too synthetic (like Diesel Fuel For Life)
* not too sweet
* not too sharp (you should be able too breathe the stuff instead of air )
* no heavy/dark/leathery/tobacco/woody/musky notes
* a semi-aquatic feel (without beeing aquatic)

I'm thankful for any suggestions .

Paris Hilton. Dior Homme... maybe too sweet or synthetic.

i think burberry touch fits, though it /slightly/ spicy when first sprayed. fresh/fruity are my favorite though everything that comes to mind have citrus.

Versace Metal Jeans, Paris Hilton, Mambo, Perry Man and Xeryus Rouge (though it's pretty sweet) immediately come to mind.
And then there are the apple ones like Boss 6 and Black Marlin.

is the paris hilton one Just me or the original watermelon one?

Davidoff Adventure. It matches your criteria exactly. At first this wasn't very impressive for me, but then I started to like it a lot.

Richard Simmons for Men

oh wait, not that kind of fruity...

Polo Black, KC Black, Lacoste Essential (maybe too citrusy), Boss Selection.. (no wait too synthetic), Cerruti Image

Jil Sander Sunmen, and there is supposed to be new summer version of it.

Kenneth Cole Reaction - clear and fruity, fresh without smelling like floor cleaner.

When I'm in the mood for something like this, I reach for Uomo? Moschino - reminds me of lemon meringue pie, though it can get nasty if you overapply it.

I like Mure et Musc also, but prefer Mure et Musc Extreme. Potent elexir, spray lightly and it will last all day. Wild Blackberries and Clean Musk. Fruity and a little naughty. Nice combo if you ask me.

ok...strong fruit smell without the sweetness?

Un Jardin Sur De Nil = grapefruit, grapefruit, grapefruit + mango......very unsynthetic like....you can actually taste the grapefruit.
post #23 of 41
Back XS is fruity but not exactly 'fresh'. Id suggest Joop! Jump.
post #24 of 41
Mangosteen by Fresh is nice. Very tropical, so you should try it before you commit.

Millesime Imperial for sure.

Well, I can't say these fit 'a semi-aquatic feel' but, imho they fulfill all your other requirements:

1. Nicole Miller for Men
2. (original) Montana Pafum d'Homme (1989)

( Good luck finding them! )

3. Le Roy Soleil Homme
4. Homme Nature by Yves Rocher
5. Quasar

I wanted to include SMW, but I think it's more aqua than a fresh fruity smell. Still, it's a borderline call. MI is on the fruit side of the border. Both are worth a sniff.
Then there's always John Varvartos and Geir . . .
Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mario

Hmmm....not sure if this is too sweet, but if you like the smell of a pack of fruity lifesavers, then definitely try Tabac Eau de Toilette. NOT to be confused with Tabac Eau de Cologne, as they smell *completely different.

I'd also recommend Banana Republic "M," but it's discontinued and difficult to find now.

Tropical fruit and ocean breeze...

In a wardrobe of well respected longevity and sillage monsters, my Black XS only bows to Gaultier2 and stands up to the rest. But I'm not sure on the 'fresh'. It's soft and powerful and very very sweet, but I don't get any hint of freshness. I'd say YSL Opium fits the bill here.

when i smell Hermes' Nil, i get Kumquats. not green mangos, but kumquats. :S

still, i like it.

l'eau par kenzo pour homme is sweet because it's mostly Yuzu lemon, but it doesn't smell "citrusy" per se.

and Tom Ford for Men also smells mostly sweet & fruity to me. not bad per se, but after Black Orchid i was expecting something totally different.

I just remembered, what about Eau de Cartier by Cartier? Their flankers of this product are positively fruity and fresh, I think it's called Eau de Cartier 'Cartier d'Ete'.
post #39 of 41
You might want to give the Tommy H. limited editions for men a try (Tommy Summer cologne 2004 for ex.), they are all a very fresh and a bit fruity, a bit aquatic and not too sharp. Also check out the CkOne limited eds.
