I am a big fan of the original Opium pour Homme, but it is way too heavy of an oriental scent to wear in the summer. The Eau d'Orient version is a lighter/fresher/modern take on the original with the introduction of notes such as grapefruit and vetiver. Plus I think it has pretty gone longevity for a summer scent.
I am in Europe for another week and I just purchased YSL Opium Eau d'Orient. I am a big fan of it too.
On the box it says: "Opium Pour Homme". Below that it says: "Poésie de Chine". Below that it says "Eau d'Orient".
You mentioned grapefruit... In other scents I sampled (can't remember which ones at the moment) that say there is grapefruit, I can't smell it. I can definitely smell the grapefruit in this scent. It is very nice.
I am in Hannover for an exhibition and today I set up the booth. Since I just got my Opium Eau d'Orient, I had to try it. I was sweating all day today and even at the end of the day, I could still smell it. It wasn't strong but still there. I sprayed a little more before I went to dinner (in the train station lol).
Good luck with your choice
