Guerlain
Héritage
(1992)
Jean-Paul Guerlain

Top note:
Bergamot, Lavender, Juniper Berries, Violet, Aldehydes, Clary Sage, Green Notes, Lemon, Petitgrain
Middle note: Pepper, Coriander, Carnation, Cyclamen, Geranium Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Balsam, Rose, Orrisroot
Base note: Patchouli, Amber, Cedarwood, Tonka bean, Moss, Musk, Sandalwood
Mostly citrus with vanillic notes and patchouli. The extended list of notes is from parfyym.pri.ee, a wonderful Estonian website on perfumes.
This is a pure smooth woody oriental in a chypre style like nobody would make any more. Has Guerlain tinkered with this one?
The bottle I have seems the same as the original.

Day 5 of the Neil Morris vertical wear

Neil Morris Aegean

After yesterday's dense ball of wax this is refreshingly light but still having some complexity to it.

Hey Taolady I am going to write up my whole week's experience in the Neil Morris scents in my blog over on the blog side of Basenotes on Sunday. Yes, this is a shameless plug for attention
But as a preview I am really enjoying Aegean four hours into wearing it. As I have enjoyed everything I've worn so far but one has stood out for me as just amazing for my sensibilities.
Which one? You'll have to wait and see. That's adding suspense to the shameless plug.
Or maybe not.

Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain, and I'm not even going to check the spelling because it's just a one-extra-button-undone, rock-it-on-the-first-take spring day in Baltimore. Oh, Andy, you shaman of chemistry, you make the women in my office pause by me and for a moment breathe colors and sounds.
