I would have worn Neroli Sauvage if only I had read this thread before I applied my own. It was between NS and Cool Water. I went with Cool Water!

Cheers!

Wearing some Encre Noir as my SotA. Nice sillage - but not sure if this is one for me or not. There is something about it that just doesn't sit well with my nose.

Today I tested:

YSL Yvresse (formerly Champagne)

Opens with a ripe fruit, they say nectarine, but it has a sort of apricot scent to me. Fruit is atop a light floral midsection (including rose), and to my nose, a musk/clove/patchouli base.

I had high hopes all through the top and middle. In fact, was thinking about purchasing a full bottle since I love the fruity chypre genre and it works well on me. But so far, the dry down reminds me of a candle scent as it is a bit waxy and seems heavy on the spice. We'll see. Still enjoyable and a far cry from most mediocre things out there.

By next week our lilies of the valley should be in bloom. I am impatient for them and am wearing Coty's Muguet des Bois-- a precious hoarded bottle of the scent from before they changed the formula.

YSL L'Homme. I'm giving it a second shot and I like it. The composition is well thought out for a product targeted for the masses. If they're going to whore out, at least they did it right with this one. Although, the way it's fairly inoffensive, my nose forgets it's there. Everyday people have no reason to hate this one when it's worn on a day to day basis, that's for sure. LOL.

'UME by Saffron James - from a tester - for two days in a row. I am wowed by this fragrance! It's warm and alluring, but in a way that works in the hot weather. I wish I had the knowledge to post a detailed review. It seems to be what I think you all refer to as "linear" (stays pretty much the same throughout its life on my skin). And it's got good lasting power, lingering most of the day on me.

The Saffron James website describes it as "an olfactory homage to the White Ginger flower.....with notes of Ginger Absolute, Waterlily, Gardenia, Yuzu and Mousse de Chene."

Must go look up Mousse de Chene...

Wishing you all a week of olfactory and other pleasures!

Thank you, pluran. It appears that I have growing on my property! I'm thinking that the inclusion of this ingredient gives my SotD depth and lasting power?
