Burberry the Beat

Hi,

I was given a sample of Burberry "the Beat" - I'd try it now if I weren't wearing Creed's "Himalaya" which is absolutely wonderful.

The Beat is meant to be a female fragrance - but can a guy pull it off? Is it pleasing? What are your thoughts on this fragrance?

My 'girlfriend' (complicated, lol) just got a bottle of this as a late birthday present off her aunt. It smells young, innocent, floral and slightly sexy. I don't think a guy could pull it off, unless very daring, but I already have pre-set connotations.

I wonder if they plan to produce a male version of it any time soon.

They probably will... in a couple of years time.

Burberry is a favourite of mine; they have this wonderful young gentleman feel to it; they're young without smelling cheap - which is a trait some perfumers haven't managed to grasp.

Well said. You perfectly summed up my appreciation for Burberry fragrances.

Try it on - and If you like it, wear it!

I wouldn't go by how it is advertised or what others think.

I've tried it... it's my SotD... it is feminine... but I have a feeling JPG would market it this as being unisex... or even as a masculine scent.

Having said that it doesn't really bother me. There are some nice notes which would be great in a masculine version - I'm curious about the "Ceylon Tea" note.

I wonder whether a Male version of "the Beat" is being planned.

This has such a huge mango note, which simply lasted forever on me. A bit too much. Azzaro Now felt like its a masculinized version on me, same big mango but with some chutney spice added.
