SotD Sunday 1 June

Thread Starter
Wow! No one's made a SotD thread yet? Well, I guess I just can't wait any longer so I'll make one... Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month everyone!

Today, on a raining, cold day, I am wearing the sweet, comforting L de Lolita Lempicka. I'm going to be wearing this scent all week to see if I can get a fragrance that NO ONE would expect into the weekly stats! Yes, that's right. I'm such a rebel! So if anyone would like to join me in L de Lolita Lempicka this week, I'll be most happy in your sweet-scented company.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Ooh L de Lolita Lempicka this week? Hmm that sounds doable, I now know what will be my SotE See how long I can last in LdLL.

Wore Cinema Festival d'Ete for a morning of shopping.

Ahhhhh!!!!!

But my dear ladies, would I let you down? Last week I just got a bottle of ''L' and it is simply begging me to be used.
Maybe even for a whole week

So, on this warm, overcast and very humid day:

L de Lolita Lempicka

Nose: Maurice Roucel.

::note to LIB: at the moment it does not smell exactly the same as your precious L'Oiseau de Nuit anymore!::

Baking a Spanish tortilla today - wearing Italian leather shoes and Geo Trumper's SPANISH LEATHER

Didn´t know what to wear today, but (like always!) this thread is the best source for inspiration.

L de Lempicka for today I like the sweetness in it, but wish that burnt smell was less pronounced on my skin. Burnt sugar, burnt cinnamon, burnt vanilla....

Have an ab fab Sunday, all! :bounce:

Even nights do not give us any break from outrageous humidity. I can't even start imagining what people on the coast do. What do you do, folks?

Remember, it is all about Citrus S'n'S this coming Saturday? I guess I will start the week with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbano Light Blue. It was realeased when I was already here in the USA, so I was not able to witness its peak of popularity in Europe when, reportedly, everyone and their dog was wearing it. As much as I absolutely hate the magazine campaign for it, I adore its green tart apples in the very beginning, clean and bright lemons in the middle and woody finish.

Will anyone care to join me in wearing lemon/lime/orange/bergamot/mandarin/tangerine/grapefruit/kumquat scents for the whole week?

Oh, Twolfie-
If it would continue to be 'Dallas swelter', I'd do it in a NY Minute !
Last night, it finally 'cleared out' here-

Musse, I love your dog.
Tavorna- I love L- but it's not feeling like L weather here [ I could put a drop , somewhere- for solidarity...!]

Yesterday, I kept spraying AL Moss.
At night, I covered everything in YR Gardenia- THAT was heaven...

Not sure today.
I just might 3ieme Homme myself- so fresh and exotic as well.

Take care, darlings !

'Course I will. After the gourmand smell of 'L', I have already picked my SotE:

Pamplelune

Finally remembered to apply my SotE - so I'm right there with ya in the L de Lolita Lempicka. Perfect for the cold weather here. I'm rather jealous of all the people in the northern hemisphere....

Ooh... a new challenge. Wonder if I can manage L de Lolita Lempicka mornings and citrusy nights? I'm going to scour through my wardrobe for something fitting... there's a few with citrus but nothing very prominent that I can think of. Will that be alright?

Of, course, dear! It is very hot here too, I have already taken a second shower after doing some weeding. Now I will spray on Lemon Sugar by Fresh, seek for shelter in the shadow under the blooming lilac tree in the garden with a good book ("Don´t Let´s Go to the Dogs Tonight" by Alexandra Fuller).

in the wee hours of the morning I was watching Interview with a Vampire and wore Une Histoire de Chypre by Molinard ... it went perfectly with the atmosphere of the movie that went through historic Paris and New Orleans.

Testing a sample of Aqua Allegoria Angelique Lilas this morning. Pleasant enough, but it doesn't wow me.

Apologies, but I won't be able to join the L de Lolita Lempicka team this week as I don't own any. Used to have a sample somewhere but can't find it.

Pleasant day everyone!

Good morning, everyone!

Dear daughter's dance recital today, and didn't get the "citrus" note early enough... I'm in Parfumerie Generale's Cuir d'Iris.

My goodness, I love this stuff.

Flicking through The Emperor of Scent today reminded me of Tabac Blond and made me crave this leathered, floral eccentric.
Bliss.
Have a lovely Sunday all.

Oooh this will be a challenge. I am not drawn to citrus scents. I don't have any in my wardrobe and only a few samples. I really should do this. There has to be something out there to love...

sotd will be D&G light blue. I've sprayed this on a few times. I have a sample But I just never really cared enough for it to really give it a try. It will be fun to give it a fun wearing and see if anything happens.

Then I am off to sephora to see if I can find L de Lolita Lempicka and a couple more citrus options to supplement the few I have.

L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme as SotD. Notes of citrus, pepper, patchouli, cocoa, tea among others. Very interesting and very nice!
Sheesh!
I'd love to participate but I don't have (not even one tiny sample) of "L" Lolita Lempika. So I can't help mess with the stats on this one but I do have Molinard Une Histoire de Chypre pour Aedes. Love it!
I put on Kingsbury's Lime Lift but it's already gone, so I'm now applying the deliciously long lasting & equally gorgeous, Une Histoire de Chypre!

Sadly, little miss Lempicka and I have never gotten along, so cannot help out with the stats for this week.

I'm in the lovely JUICY COUTURE this morning, and am really enjoying it's developement. It seems to do better on hot sunny days! Yum!

I do not have Lolita Lempicka L, so for today I am doing a DRUGSTORE SHOOTOUT with the following:

Left Arm: Lady Stetson
Right Arm: Dior Dune

Maybe it is not a fair comparison since the Dior is clearly in a different class price-wise. However, I do love cheap thrills, and I think the Lady Stetson really holds up with Dune.

At first spray, LS is very aldehydic, almost off-putting. This stage fades relatively quickly to reveal a powdery floral with very light leather. The Guide compares it to Chanel No. 22. I actually think it reminds me more of Chanel Coco or maybe a little bit of Estee Lauder Knowing.

Dune so far has not deviated much from its first dab (I have a dabber sample). It seems very gourmand to me, maybe sort of like Angel, although I try not to sniff Angel very often, so I can't be certain of this comparison. Dune does not set off my sore throat reaction like some of the newer gourmands do. And although it probably was not meant to be in the gourmand fragrance category, it is clearly a sweet oriental with woods underneath.

Both are great, and at such low prices, who is to say I can't have both

I will be going to the mall today, so I will see if I can get a sample of LLL.

My Sunday begins with Keiko Mecheri Osmanthus, went CD shopping, instead I found Organza Indecence in a crummy old cosmetics store, bought it at a very very reasonable, jumping up and down and couldn't stop smelling my wrist the whole afternoon.
I am wearing AL Turkish Vanilla today. By way of recommendation, my younger daughter said, "What are you wearing. It's nice. Not like the other stuff that you wear."
Lolita Lempicka Lolita Lempicka "L"

Tavorna my choice of "L" was a pure accident!
What a coincidence though .
I posted my SotD then read the thread from
bottom up - of course .

I'm glad I joined without even know it.

Cool!

Our current houseguest is from New Orleans (her family was one who lost their house and everything in it to Katrina), and she's seeing our northern country for the first time. We're taking her to a prairie planting this afternoon.

Citrus??? Twolf, you're just setting me up. A week with Eleftorea, Mandragore, La Rose du Petit Prince and today's SotD, CdG Lily (lemony LoTV), will be E-Z.
Came late to the Sotd thread, already wearing Serge Lutens

La Myrrhe

But that counts for Twolf's citrus week with its mandarin, isn't it?

Since I, like Riannon (), bought a small bottle of L about ten days ago, I am going to support the joint effort to push it into the leading position this week!

Lolita Lempicka "L" for a peaceful evening with my hubs.
Citrus topnotes, bittersweet immortelle and tons of vanilla beans.

Since I first logged in for the sotd thread now I missed today's challenges...I however wore an Ellena scent today as my sotd. That was Elixir de Merveilles(courtesy to Dimples) This scent is simply a perfect summerscent.....really tempted by a bottle!! Sote is Gaultier 2.Will try to wear L tomorrow.Have a great day all.

No "L" in the collection, and not terribly fond of citrus - but may participate some days this week just to broaden my horizons.

Not today, though.

Montale's Aoud Damascus today.

For whatever reason, in the heat and humidity, I really want to wear incense, woods and roses....
No "L" and it is 55 degree's at 1:00 pm, gross. So I'm going with Coco Mms.
I don't have L either. Bigarade Concentree today, very "citrusy". It seems it's never going to stop raining here. Where's the Mediterranean sun gone?

Started out with Organza body lotion (small sample has been sitting around for a year or so), but began purging and have on small squirts of so much right now, nothing is smelling really good to me - I'm a mess! You know when you're thinking of purging something and you just want to make sure - so you take a little spritz - yep, sure enough, it needs to go - I've done that with about eight frags today. I need a shower.

Searching if I have any like fresh too this week, most I have are more Green.
Found Eau de cartier Cartier sample, O de lancome Lancome, need to see my minis.

Today Sunwater Lancaster, was wearing already for a few days.
Topnote: Apple Violet Mandarin Peach
Middlenote: Rose Jasmine Peony Orris
Basenote: Cedar Musk Amber
It's very much lemon scent in the begin, than it get's softer and smell lily of the valley.
Hard to tell the other notes but not much musk or amber.
At osMos it is a lily of the valley scent, but is not in the piramide.

That Light Blue sure is interesting and a fine example of how the scent got dismissed because it was so popular on another continent (I am not wearing what every girl in the neighborhood does, or am I? ). I still smell it right now 14 hours after application, so does Mr.T, he says it is all right. So did a co-worker at 10 am and one customer as late as 4 pm -- they both commented that it smells very good (they are probably thinking along the lines of Therese's daughter "unlike your perfume usually does").

For the evening I looked for my sample of L de Lolita Lempicka, but I think it got used last year. So it will be regular Lolita Lempicka (thanks to a lovely BN again, I got me a full bottle last June), OK?
First reporting back - Not sure that I love the light blue I put on this morning but I didn't rush to scrub if off. It is nice it but it didn't wow me. However my friends 14 month old daughter LOVED it. She likes me and usually wants me to hold her. This afternoon she repeatedly buried her face everywhere I had put light blue. I may need to buy this just for her

For this evening I am trying L de Lolita Lempicka. I just love Sephora. found a great SA this time and got that and a few citrusy things to try for the week. L is again something I would never have tried on my own. My aversion to gourmands is even stronger than to citrus but this is curiously yummy. I have no idea when I would wear it out side the house (sillage seems pretty extreme for me too) but it might possibly grow on me. Well it will have a chance this week. I'll try to wear it at least a few times.

Malle's Lipstick Rose for me today.

What I would give for 55 degree weather.... it's witheringly hot here in Texas.

after an early morning in Une Histoire de Chypre,

I wore Rasa at midday.

later I sampled Allure on the right wrist and Allure Sensuelle on the left wrist

After about four hours of drydown, the Sensuelle wins, at least for me.

now that the light fruitiness of the opening has settled into the deeper base, I am really digging this sultry beauty. may have to get a bottle. I have been seriously cutting back on new purchases, and I seem to be in a Chanel state of mind. When I tried this a year ago, I had no interest in it whatsover. Funny how our tastes evolve and change.

will definitely go for the edp, however, I compared the edt and it seemed flat in comparison.

I may close the night with a spritz of Antaeus just for the heck of it!

Today I wore Champs Elysee.

I don't own L de Lolita Lempicka, not even a sample. I will stick with Twolf for the rest of the week by going the citrusy way since I have quite a few to choose from: O de Lancome, Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, Code Mademoiselle, Dior Addict 2, Jo Malone 154, Sun Moon Stars, Eau d'Hadrien.
