AdG got the most, but that was when I wore just that, before BN
Rochas Man
Varvatos
Mugler Cologne--one girl said I smelled like Mr Bubble ( not necessarily a compliment, but an observation)
Terre D'Hermes---"this is the way people should smell like"
Angel---usually some version of "mmmmmm" or "that's nice, but too sweet for a man"

I've been into the new stuff for a couple of months now and they've all gotten a compliment or three from the fairer sex. ....sex........

I introduced my gf to musc ravageur by wearing it last week and she really likes it do much that she bought her own bottle!
1. BdP (had two today!)
2. Cool Water (and the next one is surprising)
3. GIT (Yes, I got more from Cool Water than GIT)

Always drives me nuts that I get more compliments over Cool Water from the ladies than I do with GIT. Them's the breaks!

Based on this year alone, the last two months = Fuel for Life. I only wear it about 2-3 times a week, but EVERY time I get complimented. It's a scent that doesn't project very well, but has good sillage. So lady friends just lean in closer and closer to smell. One girl was actually just smelling me when I had to ask her what she was doing. She just politely commented "You smell tasty!"
1. Paul Smith London
2. Versace The Dreamer
3. Burberry Touch

I received a compliment yesterday while wearing Malle's French Lover. She sniffed inside my office... and said "Someone smells goooooooooooood!"

I think that French Lover and Noir Epices and perhaps even Outrageous (and perhaps other Malle fragrances) are all about "application". The first time I tried French Lover, I felt that it was weak and watered down. However, the last few times I wore it, I tried the technique of spraying the fragrance at the same spot about 1/2 hour after the original application. It seems to amplify the sillage and bring out some of the nuances of the fragrance.

Bottom line... great stuff!

One comment I'll remember is when I wore Burberry London for the first time from a small decant. Went to the coffee shop next door to where I work. I ordered my coffee, the lady who helped me got my coffee and placed it down and started talking to me. In the middle of the short conversation I leaned forward to get my coffee and my shirt puffed out some London fumes.

"What are you wearing that smells wonderful!"

Later that day I found a place nearby that inexpensively sells designer scents and got a bottle.

Other than that I've never gotten unsolicited comments, good or bad.
While wearing Creed Original Vetiver the other day my boss said "You smell good. Is that aftershave?" When I told her what it was she said "It smells very natural". That's the best compliment I ever received and she had never even heard of Creed.

1. Obsession for Men (maybe not so many but I got some very cute compliments for this one during the last two months)

2. By Man Dolce & Gabbana (eh, always the same, a very original, comment - "very pleasant")

3. Antaeus Chanel (whenever I wear this scent I get such a lovely little compliment from my girlfried: "Oh, that scent is just disgusting". Of course, beyond compare more important is what I think)

4. Lolita Lempicka au Masculine (the most often comment is "You smell like a candy"... I mean... that's a compliment... right?)

5. Black Code (I don't like this one very much; I just wore it once, but during that day I got some compliments, 3 or 4)

I guess you have the same issue (or non-issue) as mine, only that mine is with GIT. I think it's just natural for this to happen... our noses become too accustomed to our regular fragrance that our perception of its longevity is diminished over time.

The first time I used GIT, I could smell it when I woke up the next day. But then, after a week of using it every day at work, I could barely smell it 2 hours after putting it on... while surprisingly, at night my girlfriend still smells it on me, and she's crazy about it FWIW. Strange thing is that people around me at work don't seem to have been "immune" to the GIT smell, they always notice it, still... after like a month now that I've been using it every day!
--------------------------------------
Oh and the most compliments I got was when wearing Chanel Allure Homme (usually like "you smell good"), Chanel Egoiste Platinum (usually like "what's that cologne, it smells expensive") and Eternity for Men (this was back in college years, I never wear it now... it was mostly "you smell good, that's Eternity right?", a comment that I actually HATE, haha). The Creed GIT is not even in the top 3 yet because I just started using it last month when I discovered Creed.
Prada Amber pour homme that I wore today, as it happens...about five positive responses. It was a hot day and I had hit the trigger about six times, so there was a lot of sillage for everybody to enjoy ;-)
I've received more compliments when wearing a Montale than all the other houses combined. Says it all really.
Ungaro III and Platinum Egoiste.
L'Air du Desert Marocain
BdP
Terre D'Hermes
Musc Rav
and I just got Santal Noble yeasterday and I've garnered 3 compliments on it in less than 24 hours. I didn't particularly like it at first, it seemed a bit pretty for me. I was going to save it for some inoffensive occasion, but at this rate, it's going to be a go to.

Creed MI is by far my most complemented as of late. Six months ago's champion was probably Geir, closely followed by Fluid Man, Lanvin l'Homme and Mediterraneum.

~Clinton

Same here. Creed MI has gotten me more compliments than any fragrance I've ever worn. Amouage Dia has received a fair amount, but MI wins by a landslide
post #349 of 5356
Jack Black Blue Mark

ADG (the winner, very common but still good imo)

Versace Eau Fraiche

Platinum Egoiste
Lately it's been Aramis Tuscany
Before it was GIT and SMW. However, Fierce is a HUGE attention getter and a anomoly in itself. This stuff is genius. Also, armani attitude and Bleeker Street.
My "you-smell-very-nice" scents are Terre d'Hermes, M7, Cartier Declaration, B*Men, Basala, Happy for Men by Clinique, L'Instant pour Homme, Lolita Lempicka au Masculine, Obsession for Men and (believe it or not) Tommy for Him by Tommy Hilfiger (1994.).
I noticed that the same people which give me compliments for Terre d'Hermes, give me compliments for Declaration as well; and it is quite understandable, I think. These two scents are pretty similar... In the long run, Ellena made both.
I know that it is not a theme but I have to say that I've NEVER got any compliments for some fragrances I really like: Eau d'Hermes (1951.), Oscar de la Renta pour Lui (1981.), Cacharel pour Homme (1981.) and YSL pour Homme (1971.). (It should to sound ironicaly Maybe these scents are just too old for "the modern noses" of the people around me.
I find that most of the Giorgio Armani fragrances get compliments from girls .. these being Acqua Di Gio, Code and the new one Attitude. Other fragrances that i have been complimented on in the past are Eternity by cK, Number One by Hugo Boss and Black by Kenneth Cole just to name a few.
I get the most compliments with Cologne by TM and Marc Jacobs for men.
I think I've gotten more compliments wearing Havana or Havana Reserva, than any other scent combined...
l'eau d'issey by far. Have girls following me around cus they like how i smell sometimes.
I get compliments for Prada Amber pour Homme, Platinum Egoiste, Terre D'Hermes, Opium pour Homme, Heritage and several others whose names escape me momentarily... Edit Oh! And Presence by Mont Blanc
post #358 of 5356
Only scent that Ive ever gotten a compliment on was Good Life by Davidoff, (by a gas station cashier at that!)
Recently, Black Oud - by Montale! Always getting nice comments when I wear it!
For me, the women really seem to like Cristobal pour Homme, by Balenciaga, and Eau de Santal by Floris (not Eau de Santal Extreme, which in my opinion is not a patch on the original).
