Town & Country
by Crown Perfumery

A discontinued masterpiece that has been on my mind since
sampling it a few months ago. I finally tracked down a 100ml
bottle in the Netherlands, it arrived yesterday!

Introduced in 1925, it is a crisp mossy masculine chypre with notes
of clary sage, lavender, rosemary, wild thyme and musk.

It shares a number of notes with Blenheim Bouquet and
is often compared to it. While I also have and love
Blenheim Bouquet, Town & Country seems a little deeper
and mossier and, to my nose, is the superior of the two.

Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Angelique-Lilas.

What a marvelous scent! The lilac is stupendous. It maybe geared toward woman, but, guys, don't be afraid to try this. It's NICE!

Les Parfums de Rosine
Eau Fraîche Rose d'Été
(2008)

Top Notes: Citrus, Mandarine, Pear
Middle Notes: Yellow Rose, Lime Flower Oil, Mimosa, Lotus Flower
Base Notes: Amber, Musk Ambrette
A rose scent with a difference; this is made, I believe, as a warm-weather alternative to "bigger" rose fragrances. Pear in the top contributes to a lighter, fresher and fruitier introduction; the heart accord tempers a yellow rose oil and absolute with a lime flower "neroli," and light, green-tinged florals of mimosa and lotus; the base is largely a vegetal musk, ambrette seed, a good fixative with a light touch as well. This is a great daytime wear for hot days and an elegant companion for warm summer nights. Take note: this is a limited edition a very suave and yet intriguing one.

today it is a 5* scent I am in:

Yohji Homme

This is what I expected from Idole de Lubin and didn't get. Here the rum wafts in on a cloud of spice and then gives way to the leather underneath. When I wore Idole the rum hung on stubbornly so it smelled like a bar after closing time on me.
The worst part about liking this one is that it is discontinued and I'm going to have trouble finding more.

Have a great day everyone.

Happy birthday Lizzie_j and good day everyone!

Despairing at the hot, sticky weather (BLECH! ) and testing Lubin L'Eau Neuve from a sample today. It's hitting all the right spots for me in this steamy weather. L'eau Neuve may have been released in 1968, but it doesn't feel dated or retro to me at all. Very nice! Oh dear. [[[Credit cards hide under the fridge, whimpering and muttering "there IS no Beautyhabit discount for July! You're imagining things!"]]]

Notes: Lemon Orange, Lavandin, Bergamot, Thyme Camomile, Jasmine Flower, Rose Petals, Clary Sage, Coriander, Marjoram, Patchouli, White Musk, Eastern Red Cedar, Mysore Sandalwood, Oakmoss Resin
