For this pretty Summer morning, to assuage my nostalgia, I am saluting my native city in

...usually the verbena prevails but this morning for some reason the lime and bergamot are more present. Fresh and greeny ... headed for a run around the reservoir!! (As if)

It's Bastille Day and I am taking to the Barricades in:

Chanel Bois des Iles

This is one amazing sandalwood scent. It lays so subtly but with an unexpected complexity to it. I will be in full Basenotes Salute position all day. I'm just going to tell my French co-workers it's in honor of their holiday.

Went to work with Lorenzo Villoresi's Dilmun, expecting a citrus and slightly green scent. What I got was a sickly sweet, cough mixture, liquorice scent.

Came home, washed it off, and applied the less glamorous, less expensive, but far more comforting Yardley Original.
