Resemblance Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain and Gucci PH?

I've just received a sample of L'Air du Desert Marocain, and upon application I was greeted with a very similar scent to Gucci pour Homme. Very, very pronounced cedar, with amber and vetiver somewhere in the background.

I checked the reviews of L'Air du Desert Marocain, but didn't find anyone making the connection to Gucci PH. Is it just me, or is there anyone who can smell this as well?

I think it resembles Terre D'Hermes more (actually, it's the other way around).

That's funny you should say that. I was *looking* at my bottle of Terre d'Hermès when applying LADM for the first time, and at first I *thought* it was going to go that direction, but no, LADM is much too cedary for that.

They are at most very very distant relatives, but don't get confused by their names, as that can also lead to unwanted cognitive dissonance.

Not me. Gucci Pour Homme is much stronger and heavier than L'Air du Desert Marocain, and I don't think I could ever confuse them.

I also got a similarity between Tauer's and TdH. I think Gucci PH is a lot richer and smokier.

I don't get the similarity at all.. nor with TdH. I find them all pretty distinct for me. However, the Tauer (obviously) shares a lot of similarities with Incense Rosé. I love L'Air and it's magnificent on my girlfriend... definitely none of the cedar-y shavings in GpH (which I love, mind you )

Most recently I found Etat Libre d'Orange Vierges & Toreros to follow closely along L'air. For fans of L'air, grab the Etat Libre, it's far superior, refined and better crafted. I'm thinking about grabbing a larger decant myself.

Don't see the L'air with Gucci or TdH. Sorry!
