Black Marlin - WHERE ARE YOU?

I'm itching to try this but can only find it online. I really don't do blind buys since I'd so damn picky about everything. What store that isn't virtual carried this? Anybody know where I can find a sample? A decant? A strip? The notes intrigue me and make me really want to discover it.

Cheers,
Al

I have tried it and it is an amazing gourmand, more wearable than A*Men...I think the perfumer behind it is Bertrand Duchaufour , of Timbuktu fame.

I have a bottle which a basenoter had to buy for me from down under. The scent is very much like a blend of Lolita Lempicka and a touch of Angel men.

You might be saying awwee! that must be strong!

But the scent is well blended not overwhelming but very long lasting.

I recenlty wrote to the company who makes it and they told me it is discontinued.

Thanks guys. Jut my luck. Yohji - limited release, Stardust - discontinued, DK Fuel - discontinued.

Now something new to my nose I may love and it's discontinued.

Funny how "niche" scents are so easy to find and designer scents I like are like the Lochness monster.

Shame you missed out on this one Al.

It's the only scent which when I wear it gives me the same sort of feel as when I wear A*men - even though it doesn't have tar and chocolate, but apple instead.

It's disappeared from the shelves down here about two years ago, where it was going at a really good price.

I really liked the whole Nautilus range - Aqua, Black Marlin and Blazer. When I was in Italy last year, Aqua was the only one I saw still on the shelves.

Just picked up a bottle of this today - sniffed it and loved it, a really great marine scent. I may post some more once I try it for a couple of days. The perfume store under my place of work has some real gems from yesteryear (sadly no DK Fuel..)

Well done.
It's fascinating that such an interesting scent is so little known to most Basenotes members.
Interesting also that you have perceived it as a marine scent - as it was indeed described in the manufacturer's blurb at the time. Despite the marine notes, I never really thought of it that way.
