Which male fragrance is smelling clean like a soap?

Do you know some fragrances which are smelling clean like a soap? Mostly in the head, maybe heart tones..?
YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme has always had that soapy clean smell throughout to me, if you haven't already you should test it and see what you think.

I'm wearing it right now

Creed Original Vetiver has a very soapy smell to it.

Depends on your definition of "soap":

Creed Royal English Leather=saddle soap
Creed Ambre Canelle=Lye soap
Creed Vintage Tabarome=soap on a rope
Creed Green Irish Tweed=Irish Spring soap
Creed Original Vetiver=lime soap

I just did a quick search with the "Search" function and found at least 8 threads, all less than a year old with this exact question asked.
There is good information there.

No harm done. Just use the search function before posting please.

Muglers Cologne is marked unisex, but smells similar to Orginal Vetiver. MC is one of my favourites, you might want to check it out.

If you scroll down there are a few "similar" threads where you can find good answers as well.

Some people call No. 88 (Czech&Speake) "soapy".

I'll second the motion on Mugler Cologne.

Puro Lino - The best soap and lilac
Gendarme - soap and mild leather
Gendarme Sky - sparkling lime and dishsoap
Mugler Cologne - Cashmere Bouquet soap

Cabaret by Gres smells like one of those rose scented gift soaps.

Here's another vote for Creed Original Vetiver. You should also check out Clean Men, it really lives up to its name.

Clean men by Dlish
Paco Rabanne
Puro Lino
Trumpers Spanish Leather
Prada
Sung Homme
Aramis 900
Ck be
Kouros
Anucci
Mugler Cologne
Tabac original

Another vote here for Paco Rabanne pour homme, also Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta smells like a woody/rose soap. Vetiver/Guerlain smells like a grassy soap with an astringent quality.

In that order by chance? From most to least?
La Cologne Fleur du Male. At the beginning like a natural washing soap.

I just want to chime in that Mugler Cologne is a winner. Delicious. I think I'd drink it on the rocks if I could.
Mugler cologne is a fresh and lemony green soap smell. Slightly bitter at times, but thoroughly enjoyable.

Prada Amber pour homme is a rich and silghtly resinous soapy smell based primarily on sweet myrrh (edit: er, a myrrh accord that is sweet, not opoponax which is often referred to as "sweet myrrh." My bad!). This smells fresh and yet creamy - luxurious without being pretentious. It's my scent of the day and it's one of my faves. Beats out many many many niche samples I've tried (to this nose, of course.)

And then there's King Cologne, an inexpensive drug store frag that smells like Dial Gold Soap after the initial "cheap cologne" blast.

CdG -- Vettiveru
Mugler Cologne

Prada Amber Pour Homme
YSL Rive Gauche
Creed Original Vetiver

Among the newest releases I'd say Marc Jacobs Cotton or one of the other waters of the line (big spash bottles)

This imo is the order from soapiest to least..

The top 6 are pretty hard to put in any kind of order as they are equally as soapy as each other!

Paco Rabanne
Clean men
Puro Lino
Prada
Trumpers Spanish Leather
Mugler Cologne
Sung Homme
Anucci
CKbe
Aramis 900
Kouros
Tabac Original

I wore CK Be for years and never even thought of soap. It was one of the colognes in my wardrobe though that always gave me a headache (which I didn't realize until later) so I had to stop wearing it.

I'll need to give it another smell now and have soap in mind!
I forgot Van Cleef & Arpels.. This would be fairly high up the list

The most clean and soap like in my collection are:

Gendarme - light floral soap (Ivory soap)
Mugler Cologne - green vetiver soap
Story, Paul Smith - citrus vetiver soap
Puro Lino - flowery soap (Rance)

You beat me to it! Believe it or not, this was the fragrance which got me interested in Creed which in turn led me to Basenotes.

I've never seen it mentioned in "soap" threads, but I think Habit Rouge smells soapy. I can't place the soap that it smells most like, but at least in the top notes, it has a clean, bracing smell that I like very much.

I agree with others that the term "soapy" has so many connotations. As said before, Rive Gauche for Men is a dead ringer for Barbasol as it starts out. Whether you like that accord may depend on your age, i.e. whether you even know what Barbasol smells like and whether you already have memories associated with it.

prada amber, which I really love.
A good cheapo in this category is Chaleur d'Animale, but everyone's sense of "clean" is a bit different. I wear frags to get away from this type of smell, actually, so C d'A in on my swap list !
I will be the millionth person to also say "PRADA"... the smell of barber soap is unmistakable.

I disagree that 'Clean Men' smells anything like soap whatsoever, unless your soap smells like sour berries and citrus. I have a 1oz travel bottle (trade, anyone?)... it's nice enough but a bit too sharp on the citrus for my taste.

The soapiest fragrance I've tried is Guerlain Vetiver.

I´ve realized that most of the "soapy" scents you mentioned above contains lavender element. Is this the reason why scents has soapy effect? Or do you know some other elements except lavender that cause this aroma?

To me, Allure Homme smells kind of like a liquid soap. In fact, I started a thread to find out if there was a fragrance that smelled similar to Old Spice Pure Sport, and someone suggested Allure Homme. Now I understand what they meant.

Exactly how I feel. This one is working out great, and it was even a blind buy. I'm addicted to it.

Sort of. I mean, its not the shaving cream most guys buy today, with the gels and creams and what not. Its more of an "old school" vibe to it. But theres more to it than that.

Okay, I'm gonna have to test this one out again. I really didn't get what you got, so maybe it was my perception or my mood that hindered my senses.

Whoa, Jenson, pay no attention to my comment on what you mentioned about RG. You wear it, I just realized that from another thread, so why the heck am I telling you how it smells. Sorry man
