A few weeks ago I requested suggestions for male fragrances, as my work partner and good friend, was finally showing some interest in experimenting with fragrances. I have not been able to get him into a store, but I have gotten him several samples. He has been very willing to learn about fragrances, and now knows about various classifications of fragrances, and can identify several notes. He seems to really like chypres, and woody fragrances. He also likes some incense, and spicy floral scents, and also musks. He is planning to buy eventually, bottles of Tom Fords "Moss Breches", and "Japon Noir". He really likes vintage "Mitsouko", and it smells fabulous on him. He has also been wearing Serge Lutens "Ambre Sultan", Ava Luxe "Ambre Antique", and vintage Chanel "Chanel Pour Monsieur". He also really likes Ava Luxe "Bois de Figueur", and Keihls "Original Musk". I just got him a generous sample of Creed "Tabarome". I told him just to try different things; that some would smell great, some just OK, and some not good. The point is, just play, explore, and have fun. That's exactly what he has been doing. He is also starting to express some interest in reading Basenotes. Thank you for your suggestions, as they were all very helpful.
