Chaz Pour Homme
Originally by Revlon (Jean Philippe/Chaz International)

Chaz won the 1976 FiFi award for Men's Popular Appeal Fragrance of the Year.
This category has been won several times recently by Antonio Banderas,
Stetson and Adidas. Polo Crest won the award in 1992.

I really like Chaz it is definitely my type of fragrance. Unfortunately, I have not
been able to uncover much useful information about its structure. I know only
that it is composed of lavender and citrus with lower notes of oriental woods.

Top Notes: Nutmeg, Cardamom, Betel Pepper. Lavender
Middle Notes: Geranium, Thyme, Jasmine, Carnation, Labdanum
Base Notes: Patchouli, Cedar Wood, Vanilla, Leather
A charming, soft, yet spicy woody-oriental. The distinctive top note is probably mostly the result of combining lavender and betel pepper. The florals in the heart note (geranium, jasmine, and carnation) are sharpened by thyme and enriched by labdanum (an ambery resinoid). The base note anchors all these in cedar, patchouli, vanilla and a touch of leather. The overall impression is somewhat soft, but stimulating and uplifting, which is largely due to the spicy and woody notes. Having said that, it should be added that the floral notes provide a
a captivating romantic aspect to the fragrance as well. Great in all weathers, this could be a work fragrance or something to brighten a casual evening engagement.
It deserves high marks for its suave, self-assured, warm, and sprightly character.

I use Guerlain's Vetiver - no matter what edition - both because it's outstanding in itself, and because I can you use it as a "rinse-sorbet" or "zero-point" after days with flowery, oriental stuff like Chamade, Shalimar and Liu. Today is a "zero-point"-day with a good amount of Vetiver in the 2000-edition on my arm, and once again I get reminded that even if this was my only perfume at all, I'd still be fairly happy.

For this Tuesday morning I am still craving incense and Neil Morris.
Therefore I am wearing both in:

Neil Morris Skincense

This is a strong scent memory scent that smells like the head shops of the 70's. I like it for that sense of bottled time. I probably don't want a bottle but this sample will be just perfect from time-to-time.

Finally I'm getting Angel. (Molto graz' to Ubu for the adorable little sample of the Extrait!!) Right away I got the exotic blast of patchouli and sandalwood with a melony underpinning. No chocolate. And only after about twenty minutes the hint of vanilla. Scurried over to The Directory to see what was wrong - was certain this was broadcast as a gourmand. Relieved to see mine is not the only bod that does not bring out the sweetness..

Angel is certainly potent - think I'll have to live with it a little longer to have an opinion....
