What fragrances do you feel are "gothic"..whatever that may mean to you??

Aromatics Elixir and The Body Shop's Japanese Musk. It's the herbal, autumny, earthy smell that causes this association, I think. Although intensely floral scents also qualify--Boudoir for example.

Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose smells gothic to me. It's not a bright, sunny rose in my mind, rather more of a Victorian graveyard scent. I don't know why it hits me that way. Mitsouko is also a bit gothic - it has a haunting/haunted quality.

messe di minuit - high mass in a big gothic church
voleur de roses - dried roses and black leather

I agree with both of the above, and would add Czech & Speake No. 88 to the list (although it's a masculine). Rose and leather seems destined for Goth.
If you think Messe de Minuit, then you should also add CdG Avignon. Another gothic church smell-alike.

3/4 of the BPAL catalogue! LOL! Love em!

Regina Harris' line smells very gothic to me. Or anything with smoke and patchouli

Voleur de Rose. CDG Avignon -- exactly like an old cathedral. Incense Extreme (Tauer). Most patchoulis.

MPG's Centaure for a different take on gothic. It's cold to the bone in the opening. Sure, there's lavender up front and that's not exactly gothic, but there's (I swear) wormwood in there.. and how gothic is absinthe? Also, as it dries down, it becomes a dark and brooding smokey jasmine and woods with a cool mint still lurking in the background. Cold and a bit dissociative, I'd say it's gothic.

Interesting how we preceive Gothic..

I think Midnight Poison is gothic...seems Dark to me..Voleur de Roses...Black Cashmere which I love seems gothic to me..What others?

I only feel like wearing Bandit at night, so it's rather a dark fragrance for me.

Definitely CdG Avignon and Nu also seems Gothic. All those dry white flowers and the incense. Like being Esmeralda in Notre Dame.

Yes, all of these suggestions plus the aforementioned thread.

Diptyque Opone - roses and incense. Perhaps Goth rather than gothic: I gave it to a Goth girl once and her best friend told her that she smelled "like a witch."

Almost anything from this website I would consider to be "gothic"

CdG Avignon, in the Incense line. All the others are austere/dry, Avignon is rich, slightly sweet with vanilla. Gothic/goth is how it seems to me... it is my least favorite of the line.

I agree with Avignon, Messe de Minuit and Czech & Speake 88. I would add Strange Invisible Perfumes Black Rosette, and maybe L'Arte di Gucci (a sort of vampy, red-lipped hat-with-net-brimmed Gothic, if that is allowable). Rosines Poussiere de Rose is "something lurking at the back of the wardrobe covered in dust", which is another take on Gothic maybe, and OJ Woman is just "pretty damn scary" Gothic.

Voleur de Roses
CDG Avignon
Salvador Dali pour Homme

Love all of them!
