Montale : Oud Cuir d`Arabie

"The impression of leather odor is achieved by using various materials, both natural and synthetic. Birch tar possesses leathery smoky nuance. Vanilla is often used for creation of soft deer leather smell."

SotD is Lutens Cuir Mauresque from the hoard of samples supplied by Taolady.

After reading zztopp's excellent review and putting Cuir Mauresque to the spritz test, cedar, cinnamon, clove, cumin, incense, musk, nutmeg and orange peel are the notes I can detect. But there are many more. Right from the start this Lutens morphs sniffably through several delicious stages and continues into a radiant leather/orange spice drydown.

Thanks to the Random Number Generator, the SotD is Montale Black Aoud, not sure how I'm gonna like it but keeping an open mind.

This is much better than I first thought. Very low spec power frag, but smells very expensive.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Barbier des Iles

As you can see from one of my wants list, I'm very much obsessing by old world barber-shop fragrances... this is a warm, slightly spicy, French colonial kind of cologne - and despite it's warmth and spiciness is perfect for the summer.

Guerlain's Vetiver for me today. Bottle getting low. Probably only 25 or so days of wearing it left. Sprayer is a bit shot too--it gives no mist, just a shot of a deep, wet dot of juice where you point it. Kinda fun. A Vetiver squirt gun.

Going to be time to break out the 200ml splash bottle soon!
