As much as I'd like to OPEN MY HEAD ON A ROCK EVERY TIME YOU START A NEW POLL, I voted for Eau Noire. And my participation is only because I adore the scent so much...
I recently re-discovered Eau Noire whilst on Holiday and intend to purchase a bottle asap. I also own and love the other two colognes, although Cologne Blanche is a bit so and so.

I just j'adore Jules; it anticipates the 80's power frags while managing to smell very much like the epitome of left bank gayness. It must have been trying to take a bite out of that same juicy peach that Kouros was munching on at the time. Christian Dior was and is one of the great designer fragrance houses.

I am glad you posted this as I am sitting here in absolutely awe that the day has gone by here and I have had Bois d'Argent on since 5 am and it is stll going strong at nearly 4 pm!! Awesome stuff!!

IMHO, all Dior is top notch - except Higher, I don't care for that one much.

Ruggles, I was going to add Dune PF as per your recent recommendation, but thought you'd add it in the "other" row!

Wait for a couple more polls before cracking your head!, no just kidding ! there ARE no other Houses I can think of actually so you can relax..

Can Eau Noire and Bois D'argent be bought in non exclusive Dior shops?
I voted for four, but DH is my favorite by far.

I'll hold you to that afraafra!

Not easily... I think someone mentioned Eau Noire can be purchased at Barneys (was it MikePerez?)... anyway... the boutiques are the main suppliers.

My vote'd go to Dior Homme COLOGNE..... thus I've choosen "Others"
I vote for Eau Sauvage. It is one of my favorite citruses. I always get compliments when I wear it. It is classic, refined and delicious.

.

It's a bit early to ask about Dior Homme Sport, as it seems there are many parts of the world -like my country- where it has not hit the shelves as yet.
Apart from that, Jules is one of my all time favourites in the world of scents. As a specialist said: it simply smells great. In a not really clear moment of my mind I bought Higher, though...
Dior is one of my favorite houses by far... Dior Homme is such a unique entity, Fahrenheit is such a classic, and now that I've tried the 'Dior Homme' exclusives Bois d'Argent is one of my favorite fragrances ever.

BTW, I just need Fahrenheit Fresh to complete my Fahrenheit collection (original, Summer, 32, and 0 Degree), so if anyone is sitting on a bottle they want to trade or sell....

I am still waiting for the Puro Lino poll

I have seen Eau Noire and Bois D'argent in select Neiman Marcus stores - San Francisco being one of them.

I usually don't take part on polls, but this is perhaps my favorite house (and I'm hard to please), so I will take the challenge.

And what a challenge. I voted Fahrenheit, but I recently wore Dior Homme properly (it's incredibly cheap here, I don't know why) and my initial perceptions really changed. I almost voted for it.

And Eau Sauvage is the Chanel n. 5 of masculines, I never regret when I wear it, so it was really a hard choice.

But I never wore Jules or the exclusifs.

***** Stars: All the ones which have 'Cologne' in their name

I find nearly all Dior Masculines very easy to wear, and with the exception of a few they support positive, and help suppress unfriendly emotions. It's easier to name the few I do not care about :

Dune

Dior Homme and DH Intense (but I really love the cologne version of DH )

Anything with Higher in the name.

Isn't "POLL" warning enough? Nobody forces you to open these, I hope!

I'll think of more houses and let you know, should you ever run out of ideas! As to buying the Boutique colognes: There are no other shops, and be careful when individuals in France offer one or the other bottle (send me a pm if you want to know more) [/quote]

The word "Poll" is indeed warning enough Narcus... and as stated above, Im alluding to the fact his polls are numerous, NOT that I strayed in here without any idea of what I was in for.

Why not start your own polls Narcus, if indeed you are brimming with ideas. Take control big fella.

I am satisfied to just cooperate and respond the best I can. Pollls need the least effort to respond to, are a fairly neutral popularity meter and seldom cause conflicts (Normally, that is ).
There is more to the subject, but I have to spare that out here. SOTDs are daily polls, and seemingly trivial for mere spectators until somebody like Summerville Metro Man comes along and makes us see the regularities and patterns of the great tableau.

ps.The two of us seem share the love for Eau Noire. That's not to be dismissed :-)

Dune is my favorite-- quite unique
I voted for Dior pour Homme, in the hopes of encouraging more men in the community to wear it.
haha, I voted for Dior Homme too. I only voted for one since it asked for the Best (In Your Opinion!).
I voted Eau Noir, one of my staples for cold weather.

I wanted to love Dior Homme so much, it smells great one other guys but on my skin it just turns too lipstick-feminine. And I have no problem wearing 'female' scents like Tabac Blond and Le Baiser du Dragon to name two. I guess I'll have to give it another whirl.

I disliked Dior Homme for the same reason. Then I found the cologne version, and all pains are gone !

I voted for Dior Homme, Farhenheit, Jules, Eau Savage Frachieur Cuir

I always worry about longevity and sillage on 'cologne' strength fragrances. Any issues with either?

Eau Sauvage

Just had a look at your blog, great work, we better keep your head in one piece to keep the blog going..

Dior Homme as the winner was no surprise, I suppose.
But who would have predicted that Jules missed Bronze by 10 votes only ?
dh,I really like that one!
But i have to admit that I havent smelled most of the exclusive dior frags so my judgement is not really fair
post #38 of 50
Eau Sauvage gets my vote with Dior Homme in second place.

I know this is an old thread but I tested Dior Homme other day and I am on the fence about it, tok about 4 hours for drydown before I started to like it before that I smelled like a pocketbook

i would love to test intense version if i could get my hands on it somewhere
post #40 of 50
Intense is now in stock at StrawberryNet. If you're interested grab it quick because historically any place that carries it sells out in a couple weeks. If you don't like it you can always sell it here.

Though I understand the 'pocketbook' analogy, I personally don't think it flies. The powderiness of iris, combined with leather, cocoa, and vanilla is what's creating that aroma that people are interpreting as being like lipstick, but if you actually smell lipstick its quite a bit different. The Intense is less powdery, a little sweeter, and lasts about 3x longer.
RESURRECTED! My vote goes to Dior Homme.
I don't really like anything enough from their regular lineup of "masculines". I do like very much though Granville from the exclusives.

Leather Oud
Fahrenheit.
Scent wise:

1. Dior Homme
2. Dior Homme Intense
3. Fahrenheit
Really enjoying Dune this summer.
Everyone around me loves it as well.
No citrus, just fig leaves & fig wood.
Lovely fresh opening and the perfect drydown.
Lasts all day, unlike most other summer frags I know.
Try it if you haven't yet.
Easy one for me; Fahrenheit 32, hands down. It's simply a beautiful scent that I absolutely love.
Though most of them are stunning, my vote must have certainly gone to Eau Sauvage
post #49 of 50
The newer Eau Sauvage Extreme Intense should be included. It is better than the old E S Extreme and certainly worthy of mention. I like it a lot.

Eau Sauvage
