11.00 AM..the bell rang at our door..and i proceeded to check who it was...was our postman with a bubble mailer envelope in his hand and a BIG assed smile on his face...i knew that look..and i was expecting two packages...but there was still time for it..so i wasnt sure as to why he was smiling...seems he knew somethign i didnt...i took the envelope in my hand and saw a stamp of "Montale" on it...i was like..what? i proceeded to caress the envelope only to feel somethin stiff...the postman still smilin...i had enuff of him smilin by now so i scratched a sign in hurry and thnked him...i opened to package to find FIVE!! 5 ml decants FULL to the Brim along with a catalogue of Montale!! GOD Damn!! i had merely requested for their sample plan couple of weeks back and expressed my interest in testing Boise Vanille, Chypre Vanille, Crystal Aoud, Orient Express & Woods and Spices, they sent it all!!!
Doesnt it feel great to get scents when you are least expecting any?? had a great tiem sampling...

Woods & Spices = Man. Aubusson Period. only M.A has much better lasting. W&S has a much better basenotes than MA though..soft woody notes with touch of spice. however. it smells just like M.A overall.
Orient Express: Nice scent..reminded me of Oudh Ambre minus the Oudh. lovely scent with woody notes and a touch incense.
Chypre Vanille: Thick Floral opening (rose, jasmine?) reminded me of the erasers we used ot use back in school..pretty linear with woody and vanillic overtones like Blue amber (no comparison in smell) and a touch of earthy incense(lovely!!). people who liked Blue Amber and are lookin for something in same lines from montale may not get disappointed (pls remember, no similarity in smell).
Boise Vanille: citrus blast which reminded me of Aoud lime for sec...gets pretty earthy as it progresses. it's more of vanilla pods..stays close to skin.
Crystal Aoud: fruity opening(peach concentrate), in a very royal aoud kind of way(Royal Aoud leaves this one far behind though). i don't get any oudh..all i get is a scent which smells like some tart candy..in a very good way. guys who have tested BA, AL, RL etc would immediately dismiss this. However, people who like Mukhallats would enjoy this for sure.
