Hi all,

I am very interested in this NEW Perry Ellis 2008 fragrance, but the US$60.00 price is to high,
So I would like to be completely sure if this NEW one is better than others Perry Ellis (that I always have found
commun and cheap), before placing my online order at Macy´s.

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...xx.esn_results

Please let me know If someone in the forum have tried, knows something or recommends this new fragrance....
Any similarities with others fragrances?

I have found this New Perry Ellis 2008 only at Macy´s...
Anyone knows if it is available in others Online Store?

Thanks in advance for help!!

I think it is very nice. Not groundbreaking, but nice. Warm, woody, slightly sweet maybe with relations to Boss Bottled and Allure Homme. Whether or not it is worth the price? I cannot answer that. This may be my kick around, default office scent for fall and winter 2008. I haven't bought it yet, but I am considering it seriously. There is a floral heart to this one that makes it a bit interesting IMO. It won't get much love here; it is not revolutionary or from one of the annointed houses. But everyone needs a solid, no frills frag around that just says 'I smell nice', and everyone around you will think the same thing. Out of my collection of 15, this may become my 'no frills, I smell nice' frag for a bit. The longevity is quite good and it has a circular aura of mild, warm sillage that keeps you surrounded.

So far, I have only seen it at Macys.

Thanks Jock_With_Scents for your fast reply!!

As I mentioned before, I have only seen it at Macys...

Someone mentioned that ¨It is Very woodsy but the grapefruit lightens it up...i think of a cedar closet when i smell this¨ In the Review at:

http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/P...llis-3912.html

Also have found others Online reviews at:

http://www.peredepierre.com/2008/07/...rry-ellis.html

Would apreciate if someone could compare this new fragrance with others...Any similarities with others fragrances?

Like Jock_With_Scents said, it is very nice but not groundbreaking. IMO it is one of the better designer releases this year, and it is much better then recent Perry Ellis releases.

Do you not live near a Macy's where you can sample it. I also saw it at Boscovs (another department store).

Thanks again Jock_With_Scents and petruccijc for your help!!!

I Do not live near a Macy's Store where I can sample it,
So I am going to place my order directly Online at Macy´s....

I was just curious about Any similarities with
others modern fragrances...Longevity and Fragrance Notes.

I just found the Description/Pyramid of the fragrance at Osmoz:

- Description: The scent opens with crisp green apple accord followed
with frozen ozone and bergamot. The heart blends
masculine florals such as orange blossom, lavender
and violet. The drydown is comprised of amber,
black patchouli and warm woods.

- Top Notes: Green Apple, Bergamot

- Heart Note: Violet Leaves, Orange Blossom, Rose, Cinnamon

- Base Note: Warms Woods, Patchouli, Amber

- Bottle: An elegant bottle that blends classic and modern elements:
Natural wood cap, woven fabric strap, metal rivet, linen-look carton.

I picked this up a few weeks ago at Garden State Plaza in Jersey. I do like it but there is a synthetic note after initially spritzing that I do not like. I think I will layer this with my Bengal Black Musk oil.

Best,

I was almost going to start a new thread on this fragrance but I think it's effectively discussed here. I bought this yesterday and it lived up to my expectations and more. I've always felt Perry Ellis colognes don't get their due so it's good to see this one get positive feedback.

To me there is no drawback with this one at all. I love the top, middle and base. Unlike many fragrances of recent years, this one really unfolds like the great ones are supposed to. The most pleasant surprise was the staying power. Usually the rule of thumb for me is the lighter the color, the less it will last. Not at all with PE 2008. I got a good 5 or 6 hours out of this, and my t-shirt retained the scent all day & evening. I can't stress enough are there are SO many colognes now that you're lucky to get 2 or 3 hours out of.

I too got immediate compliments on day one. Wish I could say that with the others I own, though I won't turn on CPMC no matter what.

BTW I noticed this is available at Dillard's as well. The store I went to had a broken, near empty bottle with no label on it. I get the feeling this is not pushed like it should be at stores. Good in the respect it won't become a "hipster" nightclub frag, but bad since I'd like to see it kick the 'Di Gios of the world in the a$$.

PE White 360 is still the only Perry Ellis worth a smell IMO.
