Some of my poetry

I dug this up...thought some of you guys might like it. And no, i'm sure it doesn't follow any kind of meter at all. I wrote it so many years ago. It's very raw material which I haven't touched or made improvements on.

My Affection

Green grass brushing my skin
Like silk sweeping me in dreams
With wind carressing my chin
Relaxing me into Green themes

Sunset with the face of my love
Warmth of the sun....oh so good
Envelope me like a glove
Cover melike a hood

Blue chimes running in my mind
Young birds giving a soft cry
Relaxing in a love that is so blind
As red flower petals are allowed to fly

Ancient angels fluttering in the air
While pure rain falls and soothe my thoughts
White light becoming my prayer
Warm streams that heaven brought

Satin day turns into Velvet night
Chocolate skys seducing me into bliss
Watching soft moons and stars take flight
Realizing...It ends with a kiss

Wake Into Night

wake up
wake up

Dream into the dark
Wake into night
Sail on Noah's ark
please dont fight

Expect to fly
Smell exotic perfume
Let your inhibitions die
Let wild roses bloom

Enter your mind
Surrender to passion
Render logic blind
Pleasure in fashion

This is not common
This is not real
Made for special people
It is truly surreal

Caress your neck
Brush your hair
Keep your feelings in check
Sit....here's a chair

Connect with me
Your inner voice
Feel how good it can be
Take it easy--its not your choice

Some various short stories...

The Garden

Tending in the garden, I nurture the angelicly white
flowers and the deeply passionate red roses, while the
wildflowers seem to reach for me as I walk past
them--as I water them, little water droplets leave the
gentle petals and fall to the green grass, and as the
flowers thank me in their quiet way, I enjoy a
beautiful butterfly perched upon a lemon on a lemon
tree--it is both red, orange, and yellow...as it
slowly opens and closes its majestic wings, I slowly
reach with my hand and as it slowly trusts me and
rests on my hand, I place it on my hand...and take it
through the secret garden, as it tells me of things
that I never knew, and so I let it fly away...as it
beckones me to follow it, I reach an idle pool of
water so pure that I see my reflection smiling at me
even when I am not and as I reach to touch the water,
its texture feels smooth to my hand and it secretly
tells me of things that I do not know, and brings me
gorgeous comfort...and as I see the butterfly, it is
already flying with a few more, dancing in the
light...and slowly disappearing.

The Beach

...And as I lied on the tropical beach, the warm
sunlight beckoned me to stay...stay lying on the soft,
silk-like sand under me, while the bluest ocean would
roll, comforting me as the ocean mist caressed my
face--and the sound of seagulls awakened in me the
soft, remembrance of a time that was once so simple,
where just laying and resting was appropriate
wonderful--and at the same time a rainforest behind me
reminded me of the times of fun and adventure I had as
a small child, exploring new places and exotic animals
and people until----I woke up....in the warmth of my
bed, in my home, in the morning.

These are better pictures of you than could ever be posted on the Members' Photos thread. Thank you for sharing them.

Beautiful, Leor, really. The first one is my favorite. You must have been very young and very much in love when you wrote it. I think it captures the feeling of love amazingly well. I re-read it several times and got chills on the back of my neck remembering one of my first girlfriends...

Happy & melancholy at the same time...

Good work.

PS: Just read it for about the 10th time. Man I LOVE THAT FIRST ONE! Now I want to call her! She's married with kids...it would be weird...I want to...must control myself...now I feel sad...won't be able to sleep...thanks alot, Leor...

Thank you for sharing these Leor. I too am really in love with the first poem - it brings back memories that are painfully close to my heart. Tons of happy memories, now scattered like pictures on an empty bed, the captions only dimly reflecting the thoughts and the words that were said.

Still though, the pain of remembrance is cathartic.

I can soo relate to "The Beach"...

Within your words are the potential monikers of sooooo many beautiful fragrances!!!

Leor, I very much enjoyed your writing. All are beautiful but The Beach is very evocative for me.

I'm glad that some of you enjoyed them. Here are just several more pieces that I dug up...Once again, just raw work.

The lovers kissed gently under the pink and deep red
and purple haze of the sunset, not knowing at all
about the storm that was brooding inside of their
hearts--A storm brought forth from the crimson passion
of their love...bringing them down deeper into a love
of exctacy and passion that they would remember for
years to come--and the storm would soon reside in
their hearts and minds to a beautiful spring day, with
a rainbow lolling overhead.

They were two lovers crossing like two distant ships
crossing each other in the night Under the dark blanket
of night, embedded with bright, gentle stars And the
warmth of it all overshadowing the cold of the night.

My Lover

I lit a candle to see her right eye
I lit a candle to see her left eye
I lit a candle to see her cheeks
I lit a candle to see her lips
I kissed her lips...
And we melted into the dark of the night...

Dude, you have talent.

Thank you so much for sharing those, I really enjoyed them. They have this sort of melancholy reminiscence to them, don't they? I can hear music from the 80's to your words - Depeche Mode, or the Cure, or Simple Minds, like that - that kind of sad romantic bigness that I recall so well from my young years. Perfect for a rainy day like today.
