Top Notes: Galbanum, Narcissus, Orange, Mandarin, Lemon, Bergamot, Orange Blossom
Middle Notes: Iris, Vanilla, Narcissus, Aldehydes
Base Notes: Spices, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Orris Root, Musk
A wonderfully complex chypre with the addition of aldehydes. This is mainly floral, but classed sometimes as a spicy oriental because of the base notes. It has a strong green component in the top notes (galbanum) supported by citrus notes and white florals. The heart is iris and narcissus softened by vanilla and spiked with aldehydic notes. The pure perfume has a marked oriental feel, probably put forward by oakmoss, orris root, and musk; moreover, there is remarkable sillage and above average longevity. A Jacques Guerlain classic from the 1930s that still captivates today.

Got all sorts samples yesterday - the most compelling of which is a delicious royal purple, and according to it's site is: "A sumptuous jasmin which smoothes its fur... A sigh of time."

Care to guess?

If you thought Sarrasins you'd be right!! (Manymany thanks to Sloan_8013. ) It opens with a curious medicinal, herbed greenness and quickly segues into a creamy deep-throated jasmine that does indeed have the purr of wet fur. Tres retro!

I ADORE jasmine and this could climb onto my lust-list. Perfect for this promises-to-be-coolish Sunday!!

I think today will be a day of many scents. I've got loads of "chores" to do today, from washing the car to mowing the lawn to painting to shopping. There will be many showers, thus many new sprays!
I started this morning in Creed Acier Aluminium
