1776 Russian Leather
by Elsha

Its time to start hauling out the big boys!

A phenomenal birch-tar leather highly reminiscent of
Royal English Leather, at a fraction of the cost.

From scentedsalamander: The notes I thought I could discern
are the following: clove, tarragon, citrus, perhaps orange, ambergris,
sandalwood, a very dirty musk, cinnamon, orris, oakmoss, birch, myrrh,
and soft woods, perhaps rosewood.

Yves Saint Laurent

Can I still be called a Basenoter if I only wear three or four different fragrances a week? I'm starting to feel a bit guilty.
But RGPH seems the perfect scent for me for office wear, so I continue to reach for it.

Gonna spend a coupla days with Jo Malone this week - grace a Black Cat!!

First up: White Jasmine and MInt. A pretty fresh opening that's mostly sunny mint that quickly simmers down. The jasmine hums along but both fade quickly - a problem I have with many (but not all) JMs.

We'll see.

Couple of times?

In the last 31 weeks you're the first.

For me, today, I was in the mood for something new. When we were nominating scents for the upcoming SSD I noticed there was one I didn't own and that's what I'm wearing today after getting it recently.

Rochas Man

This is very reminiscent of A*Men with a lot of the same notes and accords, just not turned up to 11. That subtlety is appealing to me.

I had one of those mornings where you just stand dumbfounded, unsure of what to wear. I ended up reaching for Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street... It had been a while since I'd worn it, so it was due for some love!

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Extreme

3 'negative' comments today. I think I somewhat overapplied into a vanillic frenzy though -- my close friend said it smelled terrible because it was "an okay, but overly strong scent at a very wrong time." It gave her a headache. Today was exam day -- so maybe the headache would pull down other people's scores.. haha.. actually.. nah..

Guerlain's Mitsouko EdP, new formulation. I like this formulation for its potent, waxy peach note, although its force lets the beloved vetiver wait quite some time (whereas the new EdT shows the vetiver from the beginning). The EdP strength was also almost a bit too powerful for the office, so I discreetly had to rub my wrist a bit below the desk with a handkerchief
