Blood type?

Just saw Jenson's new avatar, and along with it he has "type o negative" - or something. Anyway, a long time ago I read a book called Eat Right For Your Type, which was essentially a guide to eating healthy according to your blood type.
This got me thinking...since I share similar tastes with some of you basenoters, could there be any correlation to blood type and scent preferences? Kind of obscure, but fun! So, what's your blood type? I'm AB negative.

Interesting! I really don´t know whether to believe in this "blood type diet-thing" or not, but...
I´m AB positive (and without checking your wardrobe, ubu, I know that we at least both are very fond of A La Nuit... )
My preference is for orientals, woods and leathers.

I'm A positive.

I remember that book. My blood type is O neg. O's were supposed to be the old pre-civilization hunter blood type - carnivores. The animal notes in perfumes don't bother me at all. But really...I'm omniverous in my fragrance choices. There isn't a fragrance category that I dislike.

Interesting idea ubuandibeme!

I'm A negative. Anyone else?

Interesting, UbuandIbeme!

Let's see...my favorite frags tend to be mostly lush, dense, opulent orientals and gourmands, with a narcotic floral and a fruity chypre or two. I love amber, vanilla, incense, spices, woods and leather notes. I'm O positive.

AB+ as well.

I don't subscribe to the blood-type/diet thing, but I am a regular platelet and plasma donor.

Musse! I do think we share some favorite frags, funny you're an "AB" too!

I have no idea. I know they've done my blood type when I was about to undergo surgery, but I don't remember anymore.

I am part of the A negative boodtype with you & Dimitri. I have a love/hate relationship with florals.
I'm an 0 negative.
I'm A negative (I think), along with Dmitri and the rest of the gang. (I think it's relatively common--surprising we have so many ABs so far, because they're pretty rare, especially AB neg).

My skin turns most things sweet and amplifies some types of amber. I don't like most orientals or gourmands. I like florals but not sweet or fruity ones.

I'd be surprised if there were a correlation, but what the heck, you never know until you ask. Good thread!

I don't think it's a problem to link to a Wikipedia web address, so here 'tis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type
You can see the percentages of the population by country & blood type.
See, A negative isn't as prevalent as you might have though. I didn't think it was because my Dad used to get calls all of the time to come in & donate blood. (Untill he was exposed to TB, that is.)
Like Black Cat, I amp up fruit & sweet notes, especially vanilla. Amber can be tricky but I enjoy it when it works, the same can be said for orientals & gormands.
This is an interesting idea...wonder if it does have any correlation?

RHM, thanks for that link. Didn't know I was so 'rare'! Also, the rest of you 'negatives' out there!

O negative here!

A positive as well. I prefer orientals. Spicy orientals, woody orientals, and some florientals. Notes: Rose, amber, sandalwood, geranium, tonka, vanilla, vetiver, cumin, pepper, cedar, civet, castoreum, labdanum, frankincense, clove, coriander, ginger and benzoin.

O+ here.

A bit eclectic about frags. Very cloyingly sweet or blatently floral fragrances are not at the top of my list though. I am having trouble coming to terms with Pi for instance, but will try it several more times before deciding to continue with it or give up on it.

Orientals, woods, leathers--can't name specific notes.
Dig those great frags with terific floral hearts, like my all time fave, Dunhill '34

A+

Ooh wow no B types? I'm a B+

My blood type is AB but I don't know if + or -. I suppose it's +.
I'm A+.

And I've just noticed that no one with a Jack Benny thing has replied to this post.

And I think that's something worth keeping in the back of our minds.

My blood type is A+. I'm defenitely a girl that loves my orientals and florientals.I like some gourmands as well and lately I've been more into earthy and woody notes. Not so much into fruity florals and florals.
I'm AB.. I think AB+ although not sure. I'm also left handed, and can't roll my tongue .

I really like spicy and woody frags - frags that smell of autumn, in particular. Cinnamon, cedar, vetiver, pepper, nutmeg, coriander.. yum!

Aaaahhhh!!!....me too! And cardamom. But more importantly, can you do the Mr. Spock Vulcan salute?
This is very interesting, indeed! I am also O-. I see I'm in good company here. Isn't O- considered to be the universal donor blood? As in...everyone can use our blood type once? I heard that somewhere, but I could be wrong. This O- gal likes spicy roses, amber, soft woods, chypres and musks. (I'm all over the place!) Not real fond of gourmand and fruity.

Same here, B+. Not too many of us here. For my fragrance likes. View my wardrobe.
When this thread first became active, I couldn't remember. But I just had some blood work done that revealed I'm 1) surprisingly healthy and 2) O negative. I like chypres, incense, and woody notes typically. For florals, I also like rose, and love magnolia as well. I'm not so keen on gourmands and sweet scents.

I can roll my tongue and do the Vulcan salute. When I was about 11 or 12, I even taught myself to raise my right eyebrow because I thought Spock was so cool.
I'm O positive, EdP concentration .

One more A negative here!

Indeed I can. I can also do the Elvis lip thing, but only on the left side, while I can only raise my right eyebrow. Weird!
I'm O negative, like Lilybelle, LadyM, tdi, Makeup Maniac, and Oud Girl.

I like green and bigarade scents, and don't like anything too sweet. Words like fruity and gourmand in a description tend to put me off. I like wood, and vetiver but I'm not sure about leather. I think I like amber, but I'm still new to all this and trying to get used to identifying the notes. I like rose, iris, lavender and orange flower but find lily, tuberose, cassie a bit much, so describing something as "floral" doesn't really help me.

Proof, please.
I'm envisaging a picture in which you do the Elvis lip thing with eyebrow raise while doing the Mr. Spock salute with both hands. Maybe you should cultivate that face to use at Halloween.

Interesting topic.

O negative.

I strongly prefer natural ingredients, Oud being my hardest addiction.

But I do love all woods and all spices (especially Cardamom, Grains of Paradise and Cinnamon), all resins from the easily approached Benzoin and Frankincense to pure Opoponax, Labdanum and Myrrh, especially Myrrh.

Strong love for tar, ambrette seed and all natural animalics. But I also have a fondness some notes like tuberose, neroli, orris and calamus root.

I am extremely sensitive to many synthetics that will both nauseate me and confuse my sense of smell. Especially some synthetic ambergris and muscs.

Sweet, Gourmand, Fruity, Oceanic or Soapy are terms that tell me a fragrance is probably not in my taste.

Every trace of sweetness in the base of a perfume will blow out of proportion on me.

And I forgot- I can roll and turn my tongue and do vulcan salute too. As well as bend only the tips of my fingers.

Why are there no Japanese people here? They usually have a lot of knowledge of bloodtype things, as well as a keen sense for fragrance. (Stereotypes maybe, but that is my experience).
