I apologize/Mild Original Santal

First of all I want to apologize to the BN community for being a Jackass two months ago. I was too sensitive and neeeded to man up. I love Basenotes and still want to be apart of this great community. I also want to apologize to DustB for being a pain in his side. Now to my question. I love the Creed Original Santal soap. It is a very mild version of the real fragrance. Is there a fragrance out there that would maybe be a mild version of Original Santal. Thanks

Glad to see you back! BN is too good to leave - you made the right choice.

I know that a lot of people think that OS is like Joop! Homme, and among the reviewers of that frag, Renato mentions the option of using the Joop! Homme aftershave as an EDT to tone it down. Also, the Creed specialists will tell you that layering OS with either Millesime Imperial or Tabarome Millesime is a good way to cut the strength of OS. I tried that in the store, and it does work. I probably should have taken the advice - OS is still too strong for me. Creed also has Santal Imperial - zztop really likes that one, and I think it's nice, too. Not exactly a mild OS - it has some more (and better) complexity. Definitely worth sniffing, too.

Apology accepted and welcome back If it's any comfort, the PM you sent to me did in fact cause me to do some soul searching and I think my posts are better for it.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your quest for a subdued version of Santal Noble. Sandalwoods aren't my forte (not that I have a forte).

Glad you decided to stay. :-)

I think the idea of "cutting it" with another Creed Millesime like Imperial might be a good idea.
Are you aware of the Creed blends? This could be your signature blend.

The top notes of MI will fade away and you'll be left with something not too intrusive to OS.
Of course the drawback is that it increases your costs..... (!)
