Here's my Seiko:

Now, I got it because I wanted an affordable automatic watch (this was less than $140 shipped), and it's been great, but I really didn't like the fact that it looks almost too much like a Rolex. So I bought a Zodiac. And after a year, Zodiac's battery is dead, and I'm wearing the Seiko again. I have to say I have a growing appreciation for the Seiko. It's a good watch.

That's my one.

I have that Seiko, too. It's a great everyday watch, and I have been complimented by people who thought I was wearing the Rolex Submariner. I have not worn it in few weeks...think I'll bust it out tomorrow!

My newest watch purchase:

Fragrances bit deep into my previous watch obsession. I have kept some from over the years.

Oris big Crown (original) - bought 1998

Omega Seamaster GMT - bought 2002 (40th birthday gift to self)

Tissot SeaStar 1000 Diver - bought 2006

Panerai Luminor GMT - bought 2 weeks ago

It has occurred to me that i like watches with black faces

I also have a Swatch, TW Steel Automatic and a Kenneth Cole watch, all in various states of disrepair. Will do good by them soon.

I will finish paying off some debts this year, Lord willing in May or June. All the debt I'll have left then is my house and our two cars. I know I'll want to reward myself with a new watch (paying cash, thank you very much!).

What I don't know is which brand? Something around $1500...
My two newest watches are ESQ by Movado brand. I'm slowly trying to inch up in the level of things I can buy. These will have to do until I can afford a Tag Carrera...

This one was the wedding gift I received from my wife.
@perfuaddict Put a strip of plastic tape on the watch/lugs area when you change the strap, it could prevent some accidental scratch from the screwdriver.
Am kicking myself for not picking this up during my Cathay Pacific flight to Australia. I noted down the model and thought that I shall be able to get it cheaper on ebay. I was so wrong as it appears it's a Cathay Pacific exclusive.

As a bassist, I just can't stand something big on my wrist. The Skagen slim style just works for me. I got one similar (or maybe the same?) to this Skagen in Taos on my honeymoon 15 years ago, and still wear it nearly every day.

This is my favorite I bought 3 years ago no longer available:

yw, same here too, the first time feel like operating a surgery when i tried to change the strap.

btw, you probably know this already,
Zeugma, the leather artisan in Turkey makes some excellent hand-made straps you might wanna take a look.

Got this White Kontas dress watch, which really gets no use at all.

I'm thinking something black in alligator would look nice. Quite long as I've got big wrists.
It's quite a slim watch so I guess nothing too thick or too padded. 18mm lugs.

Thoughts, comments and ideas appreciated...

I wear a 13-year old TAG. And just got a Tissot as a gift. Nice wrist blings in this thread, inc. a few replicas. Heh. Ballsy move. Spotting fakes from the real ones has been a recent obsession of mine...
Im going to buy a Omega Seamaster or a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera.

Its nice huh

Any Seiko lovers here who could help me achieve this customisation of SKX007?

I do realize *from the source of the pic* that the bezel in this picture has presumably been taken from SKX011J, however that bezel is not black on the ridged circumference. The bracelet, I've found is Gold Steel Jubilee that I traced down to chronograph.com

This bezel search is driving me crazy. Any help that'd put me on track is greatly appreciated. PM's welcome.

I love watches. Crisis has stopped me, but I still love them. That's why my avatar is a photo of the Patek Philippe symbol.

I'm starting to love perfumes, but I have a long way to explore ahead.

I wonder if there are more watches lovers at Basenotes, and that's why I ask you to post the combo you enjoy more (last days..., who knows next week? ) and the one you wish you had.

Mines:

I enjoy...

I wish I had...

And one of these, but I'm not sure enough...

Have a nice day/night
me too,I have a watch/ fragrance "fetish" too.. And I'm proud of it!! I also have several Omega watches..perhaps you should check out the Omega forum on "Watchuseek" as well...
I own a Breitling Steelfish, a Tag Heuer Carrera, a Swiss Army Chrono Classic, and a Seiko Diver, in addition to a Black Fossil and a Black Dooney & Bourke. My dream watch is a Rolex Submariner or Rolex GMT II.

I actually own almost every scent I desire, so I guess an "A" batch 4 OZ bottle of Creed Aventus is a dream goal.
Please don't lure me into another wallet draining hobby!

I'm too much of a cheapskate to fork over that much money for even a single watch, let alone a collection, but I defend your right to do so if it brings you pleasure. Only one fine timepiece sorely tempted me - a Rolex Green Milgauss. But at 7 Grand, I had about as much chance of buying it as I would an Aston Martin DBS (i.e., NONE). Both inhabit a world apart from mine. I do own a rather cheap Tag Heuer, but the band broke several years ago and I discovered that its replacement would cost several times more than the quite accurate Timex that I bought as a temporary stand-in. I decided to keep the Timex; love the Indiglo!

I'm into watches as well. I had a Speedy Pro, IWC Mark XVI and Tutima Nato Chrono. Currently reorganizing my collection so everything is sold and I'm left with a couple of Seiko Monsters (Orange and Black). My gf wears my IWC Aquatimer 2000 Ti, although since the watch seems to suit her so well, I've came to the conclusion that it is now her watch.
I'm not into fancy watches, I go for cheapos. But anyway, for what I own:

http://www.basenotes.net/ID26128878.html
paired to:
http://store.swatch.com/casual/watches/page/5/GJ128

Among your two "I wish", I vote for Chergui. Although the beautiful green rim of the watch makes me think that the perfume should probably have a prominent green note as well (which neither of your choices have). Yatagan, then? (first vegetal, then woody)

I don't own any of these, but they're all on my list of ones i'm interested in and hope to pick up a few of these in the next 5+ years...

One of my Hamiltons
edit: just realized I probably already posted this on here somewhere. oops owell

Excellent thread!

I have a 1985 vintage Rolex Day-Date (36mm) which I still wear for the formal occasions; for office wear I now have an Omega Constellation Double Eagle in stainless steel; and for weekends I wear a Seiko Arctura stainless model. Love them all. I have been looking at the Breitlings recently and am impressed with many of their current offerings. And when I win the lottery I will get a Patek Philippe!
is it wrong i adore my gold MICHAEL KORS watch?
Favorite combos of mine that I own.
Rolex Day/Date Gold w/Navy face (I also have the original gold face)
+
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Byredo Fantastic Man

Breitling Quartz 1 Black leather strap w/Navy face
+
By Kilian A Taste of Heaven or DK Men

**The Rolex is 20 years old. Both watches were my fathers. I own a few watches but these are my crown jewels.

The list of what I want is too long

How were they a pain to take care of? My watches sit in a velvet lined dresser. Only hassle comes from winding and setting time after letting the watch sit idle for more than 3 days. Also the quarterly cleaning that takes 10 mins per watch using a delicate brush. Where the PITA ? did you change your own oil ? Lol
post #285 of 460
I have my fav. Its a Movado Museum watch. Its a classic elegant watch. But what I wouldnt do for a Patek.

Sigh

I do wear a watch, an automatic Pasha Seatimer with a rubber/steel bracelet. If I must know the exact time, I look at my mobile phone.

I own a S/S Rolex Airking (early 90's) and a Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Moon (early 2000's).

My wishlist includes the Rolex GMT, Lange & Söhne 1815, Richard Lange, Vacheron Constantin Patrimony.

I own a classic Tag Heuer and a beat up Panerai replica - both received as gifts. I love them both equally, for their sentimental value not necessarily intrinsic. Would rather sponsor a poor kid thru' school than spend that kinda money on a watch but I do appreciate quality watchmaking craftmanship. Anyway a wish list seems harmless enough:

Tag Heuer Monaco (vintage)
Panerai Luminor GMT
Panerai Luminor (Paneristi edition)
a Rolex DayDate
an Audemar Piguet Royal Oak
a Cartier Santos
any Richard Mille (GDP-equivalent of a small nation no less)

Perfume-wishlist:
Amouage Memoir Man
DS & Durga $
Abdessalam (Profumo.it) Alacho
Creed Cuir de Russie
Caron Tabac Blond (vintage extrait)
Guerlain Mitsouko (vintage extrait)
M Francis Kurkdjian's complete line

Own: Panerai Luminor GMT pam88, Omega Seamaster GMT, Tissot Sea Star 1000 Diver, Oris Big Crown...

Wishlist:

Watch: Rolex GMT Master II
Frag: Dunhill Blend 30 among others

I am like Cacia and into less expensive watches.. an avid Swatch fan. Though some of the nice ones can be over $200 - that is nowhere near the several thousands that some of the watches above cost.

I am very much a kid of the 80s so my dream Swatches would be the Keith Haring swatches (about $800 each)
Avec Personnages http://www.squiggly.com/us/en/swatch...ages-gz100.htm
Blanc Sur Noir http://www.squiggly.com/us/en/swatch...noir-gz104.htm
Milles Pattes http://www.squiggly.com/us/en/swatch...ttes-gz103.htm

and the Haley's Comet (under $100 - should grab it next time I see it)
http://www.squiggly.com/us/en/swatch...nter-gs102.htm

Frangrance-wise - I love the big bold, obnoxious, dark and intense -- alternating with the sweet Guerlain confections. My next house to hit is Serge Lutens -- so Barney's in Chicago - watch out for me on Saturday on my way to the gig at Hunter's!

Anyone else ever seen the Manometro watches by Giuliano Mazzuoli? Simple, gorgeous.

CorruptedSanity, your choice of a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms has got to be the call of the thread. I challenge anyone to look at one of those and not wish they had a raidable trust fund...

I really don't get this watch stuff, and boy, am I glad.
So you've seen the rest, but now you'll see the best! Here are the 5 watches that most impress me!

I use to own this watch. I have no idea where it disappeared to, but it was fairly inexpensive, and I use to get almost daily compliments on it. I wll soon be replacing it. Dakota Volcano

This one has to be the most uniquely styled watch I've ever seen. The Glashutte Tourbillon Regulator. Goes for about 82 large too!

This one has a beautiful band! I love that reddish brown band! Lovely face as well. I think someone may have posted this one in another color earlier. This is the IWC Portuguese Regulateur:

I think this one is rather nice. Fairly inexpensive too. Goes for under $200. This is most likely gonna be my next watch. Stuhrling Original Eclipse II:

I just found this one, in searching of the others, and I find it to be rather nice:
if it comes to it, this is the next watch

probably going to get on the shelf a little sooner
post #300 of 460
This is the only watch I've ever wanted. Too bad prices start at $48,000.
