Hey guys, just wondering which one would you get and as to why. Givenchy Vetiver or Guerlain's Vetiver? IMO I think I like Guerlains so I guess curiosity on what people think is taking the best of me.

I was asking the same last week. To me Guerlain is a purer vetiver,l ess complex but cleaner in a vetiver way. I will be buying it over the weekend.

I've tried Guerlain and love it, been having a hard time finding Givenchy locally (US), so I ordered a decant from The Perfumed Court

If you can find Givenchy Vetiver let me know, it's a tough one to find.

You could try the Lubin Vetiver, which is very very good.

I still prefer the Guerlain, but if you want a slightly cleaner, fresher take on it the Lubin is worth thinking about.

If I had to choose, I would go with Givenchy. But it is difficult to find in the US. I am not aware of any Sephora that carries it (but there could be) From what others have posted, it has been sighted in a handful of Nordstrom stores across the country.

Givenchy Vetyver has taken on a Sasquatch-like (or Iris Silver Mist-like) mystique in the last few weeks. I hope that when it wanders out of the woods it isn't just a lost camper. I would really love to try it. Givenchy is a really fine house.

Of course GIVENCHY !!!! for sure

I have tried both. I admire both however if I had to choose one, I'd choose Guerlain.

I prefer the Givenchy, which strikes me as deeper and darker. It's a "moister" smelling vetiver than the Guerlain, with far less citrus and an intrguing licorice-like overtone. It also lasts longer for me.

I just received my sample vile of Givenchy Vetiver last night and your review is exactly what I experienced, deeper and darker than Guerlain, very mild on the citrus notes and more of a pepper overtone than licorice for me.

I only gave it a quick test on my arm and the pepper was prominent more so on the hairs of my arm. Not sure if this was a common scent characteristic of Givenchy.
