Wow, I wonder when the last time a scent that wasn't GIT, TdH, LdDM, Guerlain Vetiver, etc. got three wears on the same day?

This may be a brash thing to say, in fact I know it is, but if I had to live - god forbid - with only one scent from here on out, I'd choose Ungaro II. Oh yes, I've fallen hard and fast. I don't know how for the last 10 months or so I considered it only a 3 star scent.

Hermès
24, Faubourg
(1995)
Maurice Roucel, Bernard Bourjois

Top note: Bergamot, Orange, Peach, Hyacinth, Ylang-Ylang
Middle note: Tiaré Flower, Orange Flower, Jasmine, Orris, Black Elder
Base note: Sandal, Patchouli, Amber, Vanilla
A day away from work gives a chance to have a full wearing of this. It seems like a very penetrating floral oriental, with lots of high-profile floral notes. I'll see what kind of occasions this might be suited for.

Giving Guerlain Homme a full day's wearing today.

I get the same good longevity that most have experienced with this one but not much projection. Let's see what happens today as it's supposed to hit 80 degrees here in Jersey.

To celebrate that I finally got a vintage extract of it: Guerlain's Nahema. Take Mitsouko, pump up the rose, take away the pepper, juice it up with mandarin and more bergamot, and warm it up with tonka bean. Then you have Nahema.

Do I need to say how proud I am that I also finally found a reissued Parfum des Champs-Élysées for a reasonable price? Plus a huge vintage Chant d'Arômes EdC

Parfumerie Generale Aomassai (from a sample)

Deeeeeeeelicious! A caramel, toasted hazelnut, and licorice gourmand with background notes of wood, vetiver, and incense. Like Yohji Homme but more roasted and more robust. A little goes a long way! What sets Aomassai apart from other masculine gourmands is the absence of coffee and vanilla notes (though vanilla is a component of caramel, I know).

Guys, Ungaro II sounds fantastic. Adding it to my "to test" list now. Is it readily available (to try) at any department stores?

I have a day off, even though I need to do some work and massive amounts of cooking (we are having colleagues from my new job over for dinner: Squash soup, 7-vegetable couscous, leek croquettes (to go on top of the couscous), grilled fish and tofu, grilled portabello mushrooms with pesto, caesar salad, and gingerbread inlaid with fresh and candied pears, and cinnamon icecream). It's so nice to actually have some time to really cook - and to "catch up" with my BN buddies!

I am in Creed Ambre Canelle. Not quite sure whether it's the fact that I've got some time off, or if I'm being subliminally influenced by the fact that this was Eva Peron's signature fragrance, but wearing Ambre Canelle today makes me feel like a sex goddess. Even more than usual.

Notes (from Perfume.com): Cinnamon Leaves, Pink Pepper, Rose, Cinnamon, Bay Leaf, Coriander, Ambergris, Tonkin, Musk.

I have a sample of that and while I haven't really gotten to wear it fully (not sure I will!) it smells JUST like canned fluffy cake icing in the opening. I really want to eat it. Certainly not what I'd expected.

Today, I'm wearing Czech & Speake No. 88 again from a sample in anticipation for the whole bottle to arrive. I like it more and more with every wear.

A day of shopping for walking shoes and I felt like something light and clean smelling so I'm in:

Thierry Mugler Cologne

The clean sharp notes that this presents on my skin is really appealing when I'm looking for a scent that makes me feel clean. From the bergamot at the top through the orange in the midlle ending at the musk in the base each phase is distinct in its presentation and quite pleasing to my nose.
Have a great day everyone.

Roger & Gallet's Extra Vielle (spelling?) for me today. I was in the shower and all the R&G bath products on the shower shelf made me pick it.
