Reformulation without a name change

Thread Starter
How is it that a major reformulation of a classic can occur and still keep the orignial name? Doesn't a substantial change call for a new name? It seems that it would fall under false advertising to do otherwise. Is it just me or does this not make sense?

Examples:
Cabochard
Bandit
Mitsouko
etc...

I can see their keeping the name, but I think there should be an indication of reformulation, with the dates, on the box. That way people know which version they are buying.
