Kids & what they say ~

Yesterday, the husband and I took our 9 year old son to the Art Institute of Chicago. This was the young one's first visit to an art museum. After our visit, we were talking about everything we saw. He put his hands out in front of himself, and while studying them front to back said, "I wonder what kind of art is in my hands?" Is that poetic, or what?! I'm still in awe of his expression, it really touched me. Has a kid ever come out with something that stuck with you?
(doesn't have to be profound, of course - humor is always good too!)

Kids are ALWAYS saying things that blow me away, even little tiny ones who just learned to talk. A friend's little boy, who is generally a boisterous, shouty sort, once looked up at the sky while we were hanging out at the beach and, apropos of nothing, said: "the clouds are my heart in clover". ::melt::

Ubu, time to sign up for some art lessons?

Whoever said little boys aren't as cute as girls?! I think your suggestion is one I need to look into...there is an art studio/gallery in our town, and they do have a bunch of different classes, I'll definitely look into it!

My sister has a lovely three years old boy. Sometimes he tends to be a little spoiled and refuses to eat something that he doesn't particularly like. A couple of weeks ago he kept throwing food all over the kitchen and when I asked him why did he do that, what he answered back was: 'If I don't throw it, I'll have to eat it.' It seemed very funny and smart at the same time. Of course, I had to explain that throwing food is not exactly a good thing to do. lol

That's SO funny, because it's perfectly logical!

Yes, he's very logical for his age, I'm afraid of what he's gonna do when he'll get older.

A friend's toddler, after being hauled off the coffee table for the 3rd time in a row - body language completely defeated, he slumps to the floor and a few seconds later we hear "well, SHIT!" coming from his mouth. I nearly fell off the sofa I was laughing so hard.
