Fragrances that evoke a sense of triumph

Inspired by qwerty's great thread: " Fragrances that evoke a sense of melancholy."

I wondered about the other side of the equation. Which ones evoke a sense of triumph?

For me I'd have to say Himalaya--it's like tap dancing in heaven. Or winning the lottery.

Eau d'Orange Verte by Hermes and Guerlian's Vetiver also give me a sense of freedom, as if I were on vacation. Not just from work, but from all problems.

How about you?

Oh man, it has to be two of my best Ambers : Parfumerie Generale L'Ombre Fauve and Profumum Fiori d'Ambra that do it for me

Not just triumph, whenever I wear them, they fill me with a sense of "superiority" and an overall finesse... a perfect finishing touch to my persona

Guerlain Heritage and Patou Pour Homme makes me feel like a millionaire... i guess i associate truimph with being richness...im shallow like that

Great thread, I love these concept/mood discussions.
Here are my two. They are dry, lemon-herbal with a touch of pine. That combo makes me feel powerful and accomplished.

Hey Mario,

I love your smiley in the threads title. A contrast to the sad smiley in the other thread? =)

Now on topic,

For me the first one that I thought of when I saw the thread was Kouros Fraicheur, preferrably worn in very hot conditions as it really comes alive then. Simply the epitome of virility, youth and athleticism.

Another one which I know you are not particularly fond of, is Chanels Platinum Egoiste, and also Himalaya, but you already mentioned it.
Also Mare by Creative Universe really makes me feel euphoric and triumphant, but I can only wear it in extreme heat, just like with Kouros Fraicheur. Give it another try, it really took me one whole year and some forced wearings under a blistering sun to realize that it is the ultimate marine scent, now it's my summertime staple.

There are some others that I don't wear very oftenm but when I do, these make feel triumphant too:

Baie de Genièvre - The most masculine of all masculine scents
Acier Aluminium - English snobbery at it's best
Royal Delight - see above
Noir Epices - Gritty and moody, but projects lots confidence

Hmm, I see there are many Creeds in that list, must be their marketing that has paid off...

Versace Pour Homme - The refreshing scent of white water, perhaps a waterfall nearby. And oranges on warm dry stones. And driftwood. Open air, freedom. Triumph over the confines of everyday life. Triumph in the sense that there is nobody opposing me - nothing disturbs the serenity of the scene.

Terre d'Hermes - For the same reason as Versace, although now I am standing in a desert and there are more oranges and the stones are flint. It is dry and warm but the heat is not oppressive but instead comforting.

Grain de Plaisir - a common thread here amongst all of mine, as now I am standing in a windswept field of grain. A lemon tree in the distance lends its wonderful aroma to the almost nutty aroma rising off of the fields of dry grain that are nearly ready for harvest. A cool breeze with a hint of mint sweeps my hair away from my face and leaves my view of this wonderful tableaux completely unobstructed.

Perhaps this would be a better reply to the question "Fragrances that evoke a sense of freedom" - but I equate freedom, of body, mind and spirit, with triumph. For our greatest enemies are ourselves, our fears, and the limitations we impose - subconsciously or otherwise - on ourselves, and these perfumes free me, at least temporarily, from those burdens, and hence carry a triumphant air to this nose.

Triumph = Santal Noble. I don't know what makes me think that way, nor can I explain it. Maybe its like coming back from hunting mermaids in India.

Creed Bois du Portugal/PdN New York (closely related) - These are power scents and trump any competition

Sisley Eau de Campagne - Refreshing and enlightening, stress relieving

SL Ambre Sultan - aphrodisical, yet calming. Gives a feeling of being aloof

Ferrari Black makes me feel on top of the world. It makes me feel happy and innocent which makes me feel great. I got this one late in summer and it was the first fragrance that I bought to start this hobby so it also has some sentimental value on top of being a solid fragrance. I reach for this one when I want to be uplifted and be confident of how I smell. Sometimes I just open the cap and inhale a few times of this wonderful and joyful fragrance. This one should be a staple in my collection.
