Hang in there man. I am thinking about you and your family. Everything will be ok, just will take longer...but the gift of your new one on the way is a great thing to focus on. Speedy recovery now...

I wanted to write again to tell everyone thanks who kept us in their thoughts and prayers. This went as a simple thing to a major one and considering the past I never thought I'd be in this position again. Luckily I'm recovering at home and they got the surgery done, despite the complications and long recovery. I felt horrible for what my wife had to go through and for having to watch me sit there in pain and suffering thinking I might not be around..especially with our 15 mos old at home and her being pregnant. Anyways, you guys are one kind and supportive group of people and you will never understand how much it meant to check the laptop while jacked up in pain after everyone left my hospital room and being able to read everything. Enjoy the holidays and take stock of the wonderful things around you.

What a Thanksgiving Day to remember, huh Tough Cool? Good for you! Your experience through this all, is what this holiday is all about.

I just read this. I am so glad to hear it went well for you and you are on the mend.

TC,
I just opened this thread for the first time a few minutes ago, and boy what a read it was! Pat yourself on the back (if you can reach it!) for providing one heck of a cliff-hanger thread, my friend!

Reading the pre-surgery posts, it seemed like such a routine, safe procedure. Patients are always briefed on the statistical risk factors prior to procedures like the one you had, but you always think the statistics are on your side - and they usually are. In any event, We're all so glad that everything turned out well in the end, even if the ride itself proved a bit more than you bargained for.

Kudos to your wife, too! Sounds like you owe her one.

Take care and stay strong,
jon

Update: At home and resting fine. So far, so good, though boredome sets in. Shopping onlinde may become dangerous..lol. Also, the pain is still there but the pills help. By the way, if they tell you to take them, take them..don't try to be tough and back off alot..because your body still hurts alot..lol. I have been trying to get back into the scent board but baby steps. Netflix will be my friend. Hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving and is having good days

I just saw this thread as well.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to you and Javagreen.

I have an inverted "Y" that covers my chest and abdomen. Amazing how quickly the incision healed and the scar faded.

TC - I hope all is going well and that you have a quick and full recovery.

Thanks for the follow up. It's been 2 months and all was well but tonight there was a hiccup. It went out of rhythm again today. It went back in within 2 hours...so good. They said this could happen within 3 mos of the surgery so we aren't sure if it is the stress of the recovery or the old crap. Hopefully just a small glitch
post #84 of 84
Sorry I'm late again, but sending prayers for you that it's just a small glitch and will continue to beat normally. Take care TC!!
