I'm a 20 year old college student and i'm looking for a nice winter scent that the ladies might like. I don't want anything too expensive, something <$60. I also want it to be easy to find in a department store or Ebay. I want it to be long lasting with good sillage. It doesn't have to be real unique but I want something that not every guy and their brother wears. One scent that i've always liked is Tommy, so maybe something similar to that.

Edit: Someone recommended YSL Opium PH, Gucci PH, and Burberry Brit in another thread, what are your thoughts on these?

Try Dior's Eau Sauvage. It is classy and has stood the test of time. Lemon, light musk, a perpetual favorite.
And... welcome to the posting side! May this be the first of many!
Cheers,

Hi, Sanders21, and welcome! I looked up Tommy, and it sounds somewhat fruity-spicy. You might like JOHN VARVATOS. It's a unique one and I really like the way it smells on my husband!

Welcome Sanders21, Burberry Brit sounds good to me

While you're trying Burberry Brit, make sure and try Burberry London - much stronger, darker, and boozier than Brit. A good winter scent. Just be careful driving with it - it smells like tobacco and liquor. The new Beat is pretty nice, too, but more on the light side.

Almost forgot - Welcome to Basenotes!

I admit that my knowledge of men's fragrance is limited but I will suggest Egoiste

Instead of Opium PH, I'd suggest you to try L'Homme

i'd stick with opium b/c l'homme is a new fragrance and i've smelled it twice last night on 2 guys. plus, i dont know many guys using opium anymore so basically you will stand out amongst the guys wearing the fresh, clean citrusy scents. (AdG) And if you end up going for Opium, try the EdP version, its devine and rare. So rare that some SA working directly for Yves Saint Laurent dont even know that theres a pour Homme version for Opium or an EdP concentration for the pH. I sure showed them!!! (Happened last night at Nordstroms Fragrance Festival)
