Haha sorry for the corny title I HAD TO...This should be a pretty random thread, as that's what i'll be. Apple streudel? YES. Schnitzel and noodles? Ummm no LOL. I also love reading an old book near a fireplace on a cold, winter night. There's a great hotel in San Francisco that I stayed at with a really awesome space with a fireplace and old, leather chairs, with volumes of books to peruse. I love food and all kinds at that. Ethnic gets a slight edge, even though I like simple comfort food as well. And ummm...Oh yeah. Fragrances!

Sitting in myleather glider, pot of tea nearby, sheepskin slippers on my feet, reading.
Holding hands with my DH, over a bottle of good red wine.
Maille mustards
Popcorn
Ballet. Even in my worst (personal) times, I would go to the ballet and know that, with such beauty in the world, life would get better.

Finding a really great deal in an antiques shop or flea market.
Eating all the raw garlic, gefilte fish and Vegemite I want when my other half's out of town.
Shopping and laughing with friends on cold, windy days.
Christmastime panto performances (If only my fellow Americans knew what fun panto can be!)
Dancing 'til I'm covered in sweat and ready to plotz.
Curling up with my dogs and my other half on a snowy afternoon.
Reading a really superb book while I'm on a road trip or flying.
Taking long walks by myself, especially in the autumn.
Having long, hot, acrobatic, sweaty sessions of incredible sex.
Cooking huge meals for friends and family members -- especially on holidays.
Listening to really great music.
Crying and laughing over a really wonderful film, no matter whether I've already seen it or not.
Eating Ethiopian, Japanese, Korean or Lebanese food in a great setting with good friends.
Seeing Paris by sunrise.
Giving my nieces cooking lessons.
Staying in Chicago (Belmont area) any time of the year.
Swapping jokes with my brother.
Visiting Kyoto in autumn.
Gabbing on the phone with friends.
Reconnecting with old friends.
Going to Camp Willowswish once a year.
Eating marzipan alongside coffee and dark chocolate.
Discovering a wonderful fragrance that I hadn't yet encountered.

Spending all of Sunday in bed with boyfriend and dogs + newspapers (OK, in laptop form these days) and toast. Lazy sex, reading stories from the Lifestyle section to each other, dogs curled up at my feet. Ahhhhh.
Very windy days that aren't cold. I love just standing in the wind and feeling it on my face.
Making a big roast dinner with my best friend at his house in London - then feeding his wife, kids, and our friends, whilst also going through a few good bottles of red and talking, talking, talking.
A summer day at the beach (one with only me/us on it) in British Columbia/on Vancouver Island - just alternating swimming and sunning, and then eating a huge meal when I get home (swimming and suntanning, for some reason, makes me starving).
Sleeping bare-belly to bare-belly with my little doxie, whilst holding hands/paws with my mixed breed. Yes, she likes to hold paws. It's devastatingly sweet.
Road trips with my boyfriend or my sister.
Sultry summer nights in Montreal.
Bernard Callebaut chocolates.
Frappuccinos. Bad, I know, but I love those fat-filled calorie bombs.
Reading a juicy book indoors with my fire burning while it's snowing outside.
I could go on and on...

* The sound of my wife's laughter in another room.
* Sleeping in my own bed again after a trip abroad.
* Returning to my own TOILET after a trip abroad.
* When the windows are frosted with condensation during winter, because there is a rich thick soup on the boil on the stove.
* Walking through fallen leaves on windy autumn days.
* Opening parcels, envelopes, gifts and so on.
* Using the FIRST SQUIRT from a fresh tube of toothpaste.
* Reading a glossy mag or travel brochure from cover to cover and being completely engrossed with the experience.
* Packing the freezer full of fresh meat - always makes me feel safe, stocked up and satisfied.
* Howling at jokes until I'm crying with laughter.
* Listening to a new CD I have been DYING to hear, for the very first time.
* Full moons on cloudy nights, when the sky looks like an illustration from "Where the Wild things Are".

Walking without a precise destination.
Winter without snow, including cold weather and wearing lots of clothes. lol
Rainy days.
Silence.
Driving while listening to good music.
Spending a whole night reading an interesting book.
'Wasting' time in the company of my best friend, the most fascinating person I've ever met.
Watching my cats playing or sleeping, that's really relaxing.
Making silly jokes and 'talking' to all the stray dogs in order to annoy my boyfriend. lol

This is a very nice thread. I enjoyed reading those replies so far. Let's see...
Eight hours of deep, deep sleep, after a heavy exercise session or football match.
Being around my friends doing anything at anytime.
Planning for a great night out, dressing up for it, carefully picking a scent for the evening, and enjoy watching the minutes go by.
Food.
Night driving, optionally with music. Extra points if I wasn't the one driving.
Flying.
Scent. In a garden, a beach, a coffee place, a bakery, a restaurant, our kitchen, on people. Scents always stop me for a second. And fragrance on a girl always makes me smile.
Flying.
Winter. Cold weather, and cold winter nights spent out, wearing heavy clothes and sipping hot drinks.
Music.
Final Fantasy, Broken Sword, and Monkey Island.
Solving a complex programming problem. Gives me an unequaled rush.

You know, I like that too, Tony. My dad and I both love to people watch in airports, and point out things about them all. I think Neil Simon once wrote that airports were great places for him to derive characters for his plays.

That really made me laugh out loud

I remember during the semester when I took my crypto class. I remember saying "Now how did they come up with THAT?" at least 20 times. It was fascinating stuff really. But my interest stopped there. Part because there's very little cryptography work going on down here, and part because I know I was never that good with math.
Add to my list:
A lucid dream. Two years ago I was obsessed with this topic. I read so much about it and about methods to induce it and keep it going. Nowadays I rarely get a lucid dream, but when they happen, it's an unequaled experience.
The stream of thoughts in the morning when you're lying in bed half awake, when you can feel you can do anything (and the five minutes after that, when you realize you really can't go to that girl, hold her firmly and tell her you want to be together, and you can't move to Canada tonight, can't buy your dream car next week, and you can't make all your work tasks magically solve themselves, and can't have a week off any time soon, can't have a proper vacation for the next two years, can't expect to type "make" and watch everything go smoothly, can't see London in the next five years, can't run a half marathon when you know your last proper run was six months ago... *sigh*).

To see a falcon rising from my hand and soaring into the sky. Free.....
Fresh snow, making the first footsteps, rolling in it until I am covered
The sound of a saxophone that makes me longing for unknown things
Singing and hear other voices joining
To come home in the dark, alone... let the dark sink in. And then go from room to room, lighting the lamps and wonder why we think this is so normal
Hot summer days and I can take a shower. Water, so precious...
The first tender green of the trees in spring
Talking and laughing for hours, forgetting time
The smell of my home after a holiday.
Cooking huge Indonesian meals for friends, smelling the rich spices
The house filled with peonies in every shade

An unsolicited hug and "I love you" from my children
The smell of fresh coffee brewing while I am still lying in bed
The smell of leaves burning on a cold day
The smell of the wild honeysuckle that grows behind my house on the warm Spring wind
My cat snuggled up with me and purring
Candlelight
Holding my Husbands hand
Holding a new baby
Laughing until you can barely breathe

Pretty cool you like airports also Aiona!
You know, I like to go to pick friends or family members....Kind of taxi driver....lol......Most of people don t understand why I like that much.
I like ALL in airports, to drink a nice cup of coffee with my family members, friends or simply alone.
I do all check in on airline counters (including if I dont travel) , I love to ask for spetial traement (good seats or upgrades).....And I obtain it!
I also like to see newspapers or books in the stores.
But Aiona.....I dislike 1 thing:
To watch bigshots walking around kind of "I m a celebrity"....And they are simple people like me or whoever to take a fly.

Food. All kinds of food. And shoes. Pretty, sexy, tough, wicked, elegant shoes.
But shouldn't this thread just be continued from the one we had last month?
