Want to buy cologne for my brother

He's older than me, but doesn't really wear cologne.

I'm not the most informed on colognes either so...
I was wondering if you guys might have any suggestions as to some "neutral" colognes, which is to say, something that most people like and not any niche scents or the like.

Thanks.

God I hate myself for sayin this but ... Acqua di Gio? It is neutral sort to speaking, many people like it and it is easy to find, you cannot go wrong. An easy going one but very common.

Haha, okay, same direction

l'Issey de Miyake
Bulgari PH

All the suggestions so far are good.

If you want something a little bit classic and casual, Eau Sauvage is great. Fresh and manly; timeless.
A little bit more formal, like for the office, Caron pour Homme.
Or for going out at night, Acqua di Gio you can hardly go wrong with, or Dolce and Gabbana.

Overall, I'd say not knowing your brother's personality or lifestyle, Eau Sauvage would be the hardest to go wrong with. And you'll get extra points for digging down a little bit into the classics.

If you want some ideas, drag him through a department store. Smell stuff yourself, then offer him to smell. Then at the end, ask what he liked best.

Worked for my brother. I got him Paco Rabanne pour Homme.

Armani Atitude or YSL L'homme. I promise you can NOT go wrong with either of those two.

Since you dont say how old I would have to agree on Acqua di Gio.but I would recommend another Chrome. Also have to agree with (dynendal)

Ah right o, he's 19 and a sophomore in college.
I hesitate to get ADG for him...might look into Eau de Savage and the others. As for L'eau d'Issey, that's my own cologne of choice so i dunno that i'd give it to him.

Thanks so far though
And this is for a Christmas present, so dragging him through a department store...well wouldn't that just ruin the fun?

Hahah, I guess there's a certain point in december where it's too late. But you can always play it off as buying a gift for someone else, somewhere in the middle of the mall. At least in Canada, we have department stores on the outside of malls. I would go in and say, get his help to buy something like a Bath Bomb for my mom, and then on the way back to the car, I'd be like, "well that took quicker than expected - let's smell some stuff on the way out."

It's all in the execution.

I'm going to go with Bulgari Extreme.
Thoughts? Seems like a scent that wouldn't offend anyone, and is kind of masculine and fresh? Would fit him i think.
