Help me pick a new Cologne, please

Ok... I'm new here...

I was looking to ask the folks for some cologne for Christmas, but to be honest, I don't know which one to get... here's some info that I think might help you help me:

1. I'm in High School
2. It's basically 80 degrees where I live all year long
3. I like more subtle colognes...nothing that will alert people to my presence before they even see me
4. Here are some colognes which I like: American Eagle Real, American Eagle 77, Unforgivable by Sean John, and Allure Sport by Chanel.
5. This is more a casual/everyday cologne...nothing too expensive, please...let's keep it under $50

Currently I use American Eagle 77, but I think it's time for something new, to be honest. Any help is appreciated. Even if you could tell me which of the above colognes I mentioned would be best, that'd be great. Currently I'm leaning towards the American Eagle Real...

Before this thread gets kicked over to the 'newcomers' board (where you'll get more responses), I just have one recommendation for an easy cologne, great in hot weather, and you can find it for under $50... plus if you like Allure Sport you'll probably like it.

Imperiale by Guerlain (google it and you'll find an inexpensive retailer).

Of course if you stick around on these boards you'll learn a lot more than you ever thought you'd know about fragrances.

You can pick up the following off eBay, all real, for under $50.

Terre d'Hermes
John Varvatos Vintage
Paco Rabanne XS
Bvlgari Acqua

and if you really want to be classy...

YSL Rive Gauche
Caron Third Man.

Have fun!

Any thoughts on the American Eagle colognes?

burberry touch is the first thing that comes to mind (high school, subtle)

Perry Ellis 18 or Lacoste Essential

I dont think Ive ever seen American Eagle fragrances, so I cant comment.

Ill second the recommendation of Terre d Hermes - its great, it works in all situations, its not expensive, and it doesnt matter how old you are. Search for it on eBay or buy it on a site like beautyencounter.com.

Let's see.. try these if you haven't:

L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme
Gucci Pour Homme II
L'eau Par Kenzo Pour Homme
Burberry Touch / London
Rochas Man

P.S. There's also a partial bottle of Maestrale for sale in the BN sales board at a reasonable price, which is really nice.

I would not go with D&G if subtleness is part of the question.
Both Coolwater and Terre dHermes are great suggestions though,
i'd toss in Boss XY and Halston Unbound for other decent designers.

Burberry, Brit
YSL, Rive Gauche
Guerlain, Vetiver

With respect to Terre d Hermes, it is a very popular scent here on BN, but IMHO, I just do not get it; to my nose it smells like rotten oranges. Hey, but try it first because, again, it is very popular and highly respected.

I also really like "floral" smelling colognes... Any suggestions there? Right now I'm kinda split between Cool Water and Unforgivable.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Cool Water in humid climates.. becomes to cloying or robust. I would suggest Unforgivable out of the list you gave. It will garner nothing but compliments. Kenneth Cole Reaction would also be a nice scent for everyday use in hot weather.
