I don't have a Sephora where I live, so when we visit Kansas City, I love to stop by there. Spent nearly an hour and a half browsing there!

Left with:
Dior Addict Lip Glow
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy
Sephora Insider's birthday gift: eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara (all Sephora brand)

(I was very tempted on hundreds of other things too!)

Well on Wednesday I bought in Debenhams with the 10% discount mega day thing, MAC lipstick in Fluid and John Masters Organic conditioner which was half price and got the extra 10% off.

I ordered an Urban Decay eyeshadow in Goddess and a Smashbox waterproof eyeliner in Starstruck so I could get that Shalimar mini. It's the new bottle style, SO cute!

NARS Luxor- the all over big stick. I love NARS!
I've stretched my last Prescriptives False Eyelashes mascara as far as I can stretch it, so today I've attempted to replace it with Diorshow. It has a nice, big, plush brush.
a brown liquid eyeliner by Chanel
recently splurged on a Chanel Rouge Coco lippie in Rivoli. Has the fragrance of rosewater as an added pleasure.
I've been wanting a different lip look, leaning towards glosses again, and I've been having some luck with drugstore cosmetics (meaning, getting better at selecting colors without trying them on first .) So yesterday I bought a Revlon Mineral Lipglaze in Eternal Blossom, a salmony pink that is shiny but not reflective, and long-lasting, as glosses are concerned.
I only discovered Sephora this past August and the first few times I went I only looked at perfumes. However, I did happen to notice the 98% of other stuff (make-up/body related) and I believe I either got samples or something but all of a sudden, I'm ALL about make-up! I have gotten
Bare minerals make-up
Buxum lip gloss
Venom lip gloss
Stila lip stain

I'm having fun playing with my new goodies.
I just bought some Estee Lauder blush
MAC Lady Danger, a matte yellow-based lipstick, and a matching lipliner, Redd. Still not used to the way the quite yellow red of Lady Danger looks on me alone, but it feels like a challenge. I can see that it looks good, it's just so different from my usual neutral and blue-based reds. I love it mixed with a little Russian Red.

I've gone nuts with makeup lately. Chanel eyeshadow quad in Demure, bronzing powder in Desert Corail, blush duo tweed effect in Tweed Rose, Highlighter face pen, brow pencil taupe, eye pencil graphite, lip pencil Nude. Rouge Allure lip stick in Crazed, and two glosses: Paiette & Pagoda. (I had a gift card.)

Then Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (the best!) Two MAC paint pots: Painterly & Bare Study and the new nail polish set in the tartan tin: "5 Naughty Little Vices Nail Lacquers"

This will last me for years!
I got Dior's Extase mascara- it's supposed to give you the false eyelash effect- don't see it to be honest but there you go - it's still good stuff - gives you nice long black lashes .
I also got a Dior lipstick in Brun Samarcande ( 434 ) which is a brown / bronze pink tone. The name reminds me of Hermes, Poivre Samarkande !
I also bought Clarins Facial Shaping Lift lotion - lets see if it works to lift this old face !
I bought Louve by Serge Lutens and then I saw the lipstick. Why not! A month later I received a mailer from Barney's. OMG! I spent $75.00 on lipstick? It was lipstick...can't be over $35. Ooops!
DiorShow Mascara in rich black. It's nice but I'm not sure I like it better than the Clinique I've used for years. I do like Dior makeup though, very nice to use.
A couple of Edward Bess eye shadows, a YSL duo and an Hourglass lipstick. I'm already about 8 weeks behind in products to photo/review, but just had to get these.
I bought Cover Girl's Lash Blast Fusion mascara in very black. It's just ok, IMO. It promises to add length and volume, but I'm just seeing the volume really. I love the color, though.
I bought Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer in Beige Ivoire. This is gooooood stuff !
Guerlain blusher 01 Tendre Aurore.

I threw away the Extase Dior mascara which I think I'm allergic to and bought Chanel mascara instead .
Clinique - superfit foundation. I've worn it for years. Sheer matte finish with excellent staying power.
Ordered a full-size jar of Alima Satin Matte Foundation, and a full-size of their finishing powder as well - I've been trying out Alima foundation shades during the fall and settled on a custom mix. I have never been this pleased with a foundation before, to be honest, and never have I met a foundation I would wear daily before this one, either.
Estee Lauder Lipstick Rich Rose
EL Magnascopic Mascara
Chanel eyeshadow - taupe - Ombres Contraste Duo no 20
post #144 of 387
Yesterday I bought refills of my Diorshow black mascara and Chanel Rouge Coco lippie in Mademoiselle. I tried Orchidee, which is a dark and bright pink, but not as bold as magenta. I like it. It's a little bit sheer and a little pearlescent. I might have to go back for it.
Finally bought the Lippmann nail polishes I've been eying off for a year I love when I find an international shipper.

Ruby Red Slippers.

Bad Romance.

Don't Tell Mama. I just discovered this while trying to find a lacquer that reminded me of the forest and mossy rocks. Perfect.

I think we Aussies appreciate Strawberrynet more than most. The prices are often around US retail but knocking off our $$$ luxury tax makes the stuff seem practically free to us

I got my lovely Clarins skin care and body care haul today ( and also a little haul from Estee Lauder . )
This lot should last me for a while !
I am having fun today experimenting with a boxed set of 7 eye liner pencils picked up last night from discount store Ross for cheap.
I tested last night for allergic reaction and hooray- had none. These are very pigment intense colors but feel light as air on.
Like.

Also picked up a pack of 7 mini nail polishes in metallic shades of purple, plum, olive, silver, teal.coral and fuschia.

Just what I needed- a cheap and cheerful pick-me-up.
got some Revlon foundation, mascara, and lipgloss at the drugstore today for 40% off.
I sell Avon so all the makeup I wear comes from them, it's amazing for the price so I don't even look anywhere else anymore, but I've been going "basic" on makeup lately so the makeup purchases aren't super exciting, but for haircare I do not like Avon stuff and do love to take good care of the hair!

This weekend I took advantage of the AveYou Groupon and got:
Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Curl Junkie Coffee-Coco Curl Creme (really amazing smell, BTW)
Curl Junkie Curl Goddess Gel

And sleekhair had, just in time, a sale on the favorite curl cream in my household, AG Re:Coil, and free shipping on $75 so did buy 3 of those too!

Good hair days on the way.

Also took myself and the 7 year old daughter to the nail salon for pedicures today, I have deep blood-red toenails now, seems like a color vampires would favor

I don't post on this thread much. Not because I don't buy but because you will all think I have some form of OCD!!!! LOL In the past two weeks.

I've gone a bit crazy at sephora, mac, & saks... (especially with bronzers... better than skin cancer though!)

Guerlain Sheer Bronzing Powder (when Im looking for a more natural/pink suntan)
Guerlain Terra Inca Body Bronzing Powder
MAC Espresso, Brule, Omega, Soot, Carbon, Smut, Electric Eel, Deep Durban, Indian Ink, Shroom, and Cork E/S pans
MAC 168, 187, 208, 239, 242 brushes
MUFE HD Powder
NARS Laguna & Casino bronzers (all over/contour)
NARS Albatross Highlighter
NARS Deep Throat Blush

and some nars primers/preps, and a concealer from smashbox.

I really like the NARS powders. They can be anywhere from sheer to bold. Very nice! I'm wondering how the multiple compares in consistency. Anyone have experience with those from NARS?

Did I pick well gals?

Teger- I think so ! I love NARS and Guerlain do great bronzing products. Congratulations !

Thank you Mimi. NARS are quite pricey, but they are sooooo nice. They are highly pigmented (moreso for the darker shades) and so finely milled they feel like silk. Aren't the cases so darn cute? The mirrors are so huge and wonderful to use. Compared side-by-side, Guerlain and others feel minuscule.
Yes, I agree Teger! I use South Beach and Luxor by NARS and I will be trying Orgasm when I am done with these multi use sticks. They are wonderful. For highlighting I recommend Luxor- it brings a light glow to any complexion and highlights the upper eye spectacularly - great stuff. I got many compliments on my skin glowing using Luxor- I am a big cheat ! *LOL*
Guerlain dothe most luxurious and effective make up and creams .
( Off topic- but just for Teger... our neighbor's handsome and playful cat came to visit - his name is Mr. Smokey Meowers - what a great name and it's on his tag ! Looks like Cinder too . )

Thanks for the suggestion Mimi. I just so happened to be looking at the Luxor multi to use as a highlighter of sorts, as albatross can be overly 'shiny' at times, while Luxor is less-so. I will have to give it a try during the next Sephora trip. (along with Copacabana)

About those pricey Guerlain creams. I received a bunch of serums with my last binge. So among those was a Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale White "exceptional complete care age-defying & blah blah blah." Having fair-medium skin I only need lightness under my eyes. For this use, I was really impressed with the product. It noticeably lightened/brightened the under-eye area after only a week of use. So, I went to see how much it was. . . . $450. Four hundred and fifty dollars for a serum. It works, but I'll try to haggle a few more samples which are 3ml (FB=30ml) before spending that much. Or perhaps look for cheaper alternatives.

Mr. Smokey Meowers is a great name. Smokey and Cinder sound so similar. They must be spiritually connected
post #164 of 387
Hehehe re. Those pricey Guerlain creams! I got samples too at some stage and the orchidee imperial creams-eye and face cream- WORK !!!!! But such pain to the wallet after tax especially !
(I thought of Cinder when I played with Mr. Smokey Meowers ..... )
Well I bought Nars eyeshadow duo in Grand Palais today, its from the Fall collection. I had a £10 bonus voucher with Space NK so it didn't cost much. A shimmer Silver Taupe and matt Dusky Deep Rose. I am slightly strange as I can wear pink eyeshadow without a problem.
Eeeek!

NARS E/S Duo in Pandora (matte black, sheer white)
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
NARS Multiples in Copacabana, Luxor, Portofino, Palm Beach, South Beach, Maui, Cap Vert and St. Barts.
NARS Blushes in Taj Mahal, Exhibit A, Luster, Nico, Torrid and Dolce Vita.
MUFE Camo Cream Palette
Chanel Le Vernis Graphite & Peridot

and some nars beauty stuff; mud mask, aqua mask, primer w/ spf 30
Was given a sample of the Balancing Foam Cleanser. It smells like orange taffy

and I ended up buying the Guerlain Super-Aqua serum, eye serum, and toner. The eye serum is fabulous.
Great haul Teger ! Yay - you got Luxor too !
I bought from make-up mania online- some Femme cake mascara (which I have been looking for since Maybelline discontinued theirs years ago). YAY! No more clumps and feeling guilty about plastic tubes in landfills because a cake of this stuff lasts a looooong time. if you are not looking for the huge voluminous lashes the polymer-type mascaras bring, this is a good option.

Also bought a Graftobian lipliner in Tawny. I don't know how many lipliners I've purchased in the last 36 years, but I finally found the perfect natural looking lipliner color for me.

This purchase is more about treatment but I have had noticable results with Cane and Austin glycolic resurfacing pads as they seem to brighten my aging skin and definately help keep my huge pores unblocked, even seeing some shrinking and evening out of tone. Decided to continue using them.
OK I admit I hadn't bought a blusher since the 80's...decided to get a new one today. Got tarte brand- matte but not real flat, but not sparkle-y. Sparkle-y only works on young ladies with perfect skin and stage performers IMO, not an on the upper side of middle aged woman trying not to look clown-ish.
Just ordered three bottles of Butter London nail polish. I've heard so much about this brand that I want to try it!
At last and I have bought Сhanel Le Vernis Nail Polish 527 NOUVELLE VAGUE .
Well to tell? It is fine!
two new eyeshadow application brushes- and a Revlon Cusrom eyes palette, which seems to be causing some irritation, dang it. The colors were good.
Nars Voyage single eyeshadow
Nars Kula Lumpa duo
Three Zoya nail polishes on ebay Colette, Faye and Nimue(sp)
YSL Radiance Blush No1
Burberry single eyeshadow ebay again Rosewood.
NARS Luxor back up . I cannot do without this !
More Clarins Chamomile toning lotion. I'm toning my skin more often now . Plus this stuff smells fab.
Also Estee Lauder's Perfectionist serum 30 ml - I'm very impressed by this and the Pore Minimizing Serum .
Well today, besides fragrance. I bought Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Amethyst and a blush in Fresh Ginger. I did have a £10 voucher for SpaceNK.
A bottle of John Masters Organics detangler in Rosemary and Mint and a bottle of Syling Gel both at 80% discount.
Chanel Vernis #08 "Pirate"
Yesterday bought some new makeup brushes- from Michael's in the artist supply section at 40% off- couldn't resist upgrading eye and blush application brushes long worn out at a very good price.

Really splurged also at sephora and got 3 highly touted Make Up For Ever Products- Aqua Cream eye shadow in shade 13 (champagne). It's a bit shimmery to my taste but is a subtle color and also makes an excellent base. This stuff is waterproof and absolutely crease proof, even on my ever- creasing eyes. Also an Aqua Cream eye liner in a perfect tawny color. Both of these dry quickly, so application has to be fast if you want to blend at all. But they last through the whole day and evening. Yay
Also got a lipstick from the same line which is a great color but it's so highly pigmented, it seems a little drying on my lips.

Why does everything have shimmer and glitter in it these day??? Very maddening for people with no airbrush artist available.
And I am soooo not used to paying so much for cosmetiics, discount bargain hunter and cheapskate that I am. That money could have got a airflight on Southwest somewhere, so I'd better use this stuff up till it's gone...
I don't know what has gotten into me lately with makeup- I just ordered 4 eyeshadows on-line. They were matte colors. Can hardly find matte anymore, so I snapped them up.
Just won another Burberry eyeshadow Almond on ebay. Bought an Elemis Bath and Body duo on offer, the Nourishing Shower Cream and Body Lotion special price and I got an extra 10% off.
I bought Estee Lauder's Lash Primer Plus - this is really good stuff. It's the first time I have ever used a lash primer- I always sort of 'poo poo-ed' lash primers as not necessary but honestly- it works !
Bigger fuller lashes, it conditions and I cannot do without it now. ( My fave mascara is Magnascopic by EL ( - these two products together are brilliant. )

I had not bought a Lancome lipstick in years - ever since I stopped wearing big bold red lipcolor. Anyhow since I have always loved the smell and the taste ( ) of Lancome lipsticks I got L'Absolu Nu in Sienna Lace. Color no 254. It's a brownish ,pink red I guess but not too red at all.
