Applying to the Chest... Will there be sillage?

Hi all. I did some searching on the forums and found that about 70-80% of us apply our fragrances to the chest. I'm curious to know: since a layer of fabric goes over the chest, will the scent be able to project? Is sillage compromised with a layer of fabric covering the scent?

Thanks for any replies!

I used to just do wrists and upper chest...which would be outside shirt and on shirt..kind of neck. Lately I've done under shirt chest and I think the sillage improved. I catch whiffs and think the scent lasts longer...I can smell some in areas I've been too....tiny bit.

Most definitely, there will!

My chest is one of the areas I never miss to apply my frags.

I second that!

I second that too Chest is the first area I spray fragrance on, then neck and then both arms.

Chest is my favourite place because I think overall its the place where the least of the body temperature just fades into the surroinding air but its stuck under the fabric and gives the fragrances the best condition do develop (at least in my experience) therefore the intensity that is to say sillage increases although its not as exposed to the open as other body parts may be.

All this presumes that the scent is capable of producing sillage at all.

I agree with everything said thus far, I think the chest is by far the best place to apply scents. The sillage and longevity are increased.

Chest and both sides of the neck for me usually.

Especially wearing sexy scents make it smell way sexier with the body heat that is involved !

I only spray scents on my chest. Sometimes I might dab a little on my neck--just a minute amount, and sometimes a drop on my forearm--just for myself.

However, the 1 to 2 sprays to the chest is always perfect. The sillage doesn't extend far beyond my personal space-- yet it's there, so if women get close to me, they notice my SOTD. Plus, wearing it on the chest is perfect in terms of dynamics. When you're in a situation where your body heat goes up for any reason, the sillage from your chest radiates perfectly.

I wear my colognes to work like a laser beam, not a shrapnel grenade.

The chest is a big square. What kind part of chest do you spray?

this is all getting a bit kinky isnt it? i love it! haha.

i can honestly say i've never consciously sprayed my chest - will try tomorrow with ecre noir, as the sillage is a tad less than i'd like.
