A buddy and I were just talking complete nonsense during one of our "meditation" sessions and we ran into a very interesting discussion about the "Old Image" and the "New Image".

Now, when I personally think of the old, the first thing I can think of is the standard of "sexiness" for men. Back in the Roman/Greek Eras, the bulkier the man, the more attractive he was. These men were considered to be the most sought after by woman because they could fight the best and they could fear other men. However, today, in the modern era, the more sexier a man, the more "refined" he is. Not by any means, the bulkiest. For example, look at the singer from Maroon 5. He's not 6'5" and weighs 250 pounds. But he does have one hell of a face. Even for a straight guy like me, I can admit he looks very good.

Another example of this old vs. new, is in men's colognes. The older types made in the 1800's were typically made up of leather and musk, the heavier smells. Like Creed... Bois du Portugal has a very musky and heavy scent. But look at it today. Armani - Acqua di Gio. Very smooth and refined. Not at all just trying to knock you on your feet.

Even in cars. Some people just prefer the older look of a Chevelle or '69 Mustang. While others prefer the modern look of a metallic silver Ferrari.

The "Old Image" portrays a more "bigger the better" and cruder image. The "New Image" portrays a more refined, "lets kick it down a notch", "size doesn't matter" image.

Anyone care to comment.

That's a tough question. Take JPG Le Male for example. That is really strong perfume. I personally think it knocks people off their feet. Overwhelmingly so. But it's certainly newer than . . . say for example. . . Macassar -- also really heavy and knocks me off my feet.

I love a balanced mix of both. Choosing just one is impossible, atleast for me.
