In search of cocoa and vanilla.

In my examination of Tobacco Vanille, I have discovered the heavenly combination of cocoa and vanilla. What are some good fragrances that exemplify these notes?

recently i tried a scent by Micallef called Avant Garde.----you can try a sample of it at Lucky Scent.

it's got alot of cocoa and vanilla going on.....pretty unisex, NOT really my thing at all....but fits your description.

the downside? it's $200+ for 100ml. ouch.

I'll second Dior Homme (especially the EdP)
I'll second L'Instant de Guerlain pour homme (especially the EdP)
A*Men
A*Men Pure Coffee
Parfumerie Generale Musc Maori
Parfumerie Generale Aomassai
Guerlain Iris Ganache

everso - I've been curious about the Micallef Avante Garde - no leather as promised?

Thanks for reminding me Bigs - Comptoir Sud Pacificque recently rereleased Vanille Mocha, which is essentially a mocha latte in a fragrance. I think it's a limited rerelease so grab it while you can.

naaaah, no real leather...some very very faint whiffs of leather, but nothing to alert the cows about

Yves Rocher Néonatura Cocoon: cocoa, vanilla, and patchouli. It's categorized as a feminine fragrance, but I think it would be incredibly tantalizing on a man.

I went through a small bottle of Neonatura - nice stuff, sort of a poor man's Borneo 1834. Good call!

Are there any fairly linear vanilla/cocoa frags?

Of all the scents I've sniffed, Parfumerie Generale's Aomassai comes closest Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. PG's Musc Maori has even more chocolate and is most gourmand - but, IMO, not quite as good as Aomassai.

Chanel's Coromandel uses chocolate and vanilla notes - along with patchouli - but moves in a less gourmand direction.

I agree with the Musc Maori recommendations

I particularly admire the fascinating genre change this one undergoes. The fresh green herbal citrus topnote gives way to an ethereal cocoa powder oriental after about an hour.

I think I paid $26 for 2.5 oz. Nice.

Lea St. Barth (the extreme version) is similar to Musc Maori, just less complex. Also recommended are Mazzolari Lui and Lei. The former is heavier on the patch, hence more chocolatey, while the latter is more cocoa.
