Guerlain Bois d'Armenie

Definitely unique among Guerlains I've experienced. BdA starts off with a strong incense and spice accord, balanced with vanilla then dries into an incredibly smooth, lightly sweetened balsalm/woody base. I'm surprised this gets absolutely no attention, but I'm just as happy feeling like I've 'found' a special unique fragrance. Still, I recommend people try this - and it's the type of Guerlain that would appeal to non-Guerlain fans as well as Guerlain buffs.

Hello, dears!

I'm in Fresh Index Tobacco Caramel, bought blind on EvilBay. The caramel does have a bit of a synthetic twang to it, but overall I feel like I've fallen into the inner pocket of some university professor's tweed jacket, with the pipe tobacco pouch and a butterscotch candy. I think it's quite nice!

Tobacco Caramel notes:
Top notes:
Tobacco flowers, mandarine, and French tarragon
Middle notes: Honey, Damascus rose, and Chinese osmanthus
Base notes: Caramel, rich amber, and musc.

Paco Rabanne PH (from a sample). Went on almost as a green gourmand, now it's died down on the sweetness a bit.but still smells very nice. Will have to get this one now.

XS PH (from a sample). My skin has a tendency to pick out very few notes and just those notes. So while Iskarfand smells just like pepper, and Idole smells like rum-soaked cumin (aka HORRIBLE), XS smells just like mint.

Kind of a late post; had to leave early this morning to survey an emergency power system, and not feeling very well. SOTD: Guerlain Vetiver - it is nice, but not bottle worthy for me. I by far prefer bolder vetivers like Encre Noire or CDG 2Man.

Today I am sampling:

Czech & Speake Neroli

I think that I much prefer Citrus Paradi to this rather bitter orange fragrance. As I understand it, Napoleon was a major fan of Neroli. Well I guess it wears a just tad too bitter for my taste. Napoleon may have liked it, but I do not care for it.

Also, I do not walk around with my hand inside my coat like he did! Just kidding.

Everyone continue to have a Great Tuesday!

I'm having a day full of meetings. I wore Issey Miyake Pour Homme, but it never had a chance...

THIS FREAKING GILLETTE ALL-DAY FRESH CLINICAL STRENGTH DEODORANT DESTROYS ALL ODORS IN IT'S PATH!

Man, is it strong. It's a little like Creed GIT, but for a deodorant...wow. Smells good if all you want is for people to know you're clean. Horrible choice if you actually want to smell your own cologne.

You sure won't stink! But don't bother to wear cologne.

Caron's Yatagan

and ps re the post above, use the non scented version of Gillette clinical strength (its called Ultra comfort).

Dans Tes Bras by Frederic Malle

Every time I wear this one, I'm a little disoriented wearing it...it's as if my whole body has been replaced with someone else's skin and body and my 'natural' smell has been replaced. Catching whiffs of it, it smells like nothing in nature nor anything in perfumery. It smells instead, like another human body, sweating. It's wonderfully spooky.

This morning started off with Tabarome Millesime by Creed. While it has the same essence as many other Creed Millisimes, I think I like it the most. It lasted a good time as well.

This evening though, I switched to some CdG Man 2 for the cold apartment I found myself in when I arrived home late tonight from work. It warmed me up quite nicely! Just a wonderful winter scent. I had been tempted to spend a lot of money on Labo Vetiver 46, but glad I decided to stay with CdG 2 Man. I like it better, and with appropriate amount of sprays (10 for me!), it is just fine!
