Tom Ford

Hello,

I'm a bit new to cologne, and am seeking a unique, distinctive scent- Tom Ford seems to be the answer, no? I stumbled upon this article: http://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/35827/

... declaring that he wanted to make one of his twelve unisex scents “smell like a man’s crotch.”

& am wondering which scent smells most like a "man's crotch."
& can anyone here testify to sniffing a bit of "blow" in his Tuscan Leather?

Poking around the forums, it seems that Tom Ford is carried at at malls (Nordstorm)?
Also, as Tom Ford is a bit pricey, what would be my cheapest option?

Any other recommendations for such unique scents are warmly welcomed!

Thank you & warm regards,

cpu

Welcome to Basenotes.

Don't restrict yourself to Tom Ford only, that's falling for marketing and not the fragrance. Be sure to try everything you can get your hands on, and that seem interesting to you smelly-wise from the Basenotes reviews!

I suppose you're right.
Indeed, Tom Ford does seem appealing to me based on the BaseNote reviews, especially this one for Oud Wood:
"A friend of mine(a guy) is obsessed with it, and I must say, it suits him. Not to mention that the scent announces his arrival like 3 minutes before he enters the room, but it is a very heavy, woodsy, dark, and even maybe sexy." -pasha

The assumed uniqueness is a definite draw for me.
I'm also considering 1903, and other leathery, strong colognes.

(Vanilla Tobacco sounds delightful too).

This will be my first cologne purchase (aside from a spray can of Axe a few years back). What are the best places to find a large selection of varying fragrances (in Southeast PA, USA)?
